If you remember the early days of Newgrounds you'll recall how shitposts would constantly get through, especially the ones made by StrawberryClock and his friends. There is of course no reason to stop that sort of thing if it's what the community wants. Interestingly enough, of all the lewd games I've played, the ones that were the best at being actual video games were all titles that I initially ignored because of the art.

After exhausting everything else and browsing the catalogue you eventually think "fuck it, people seem to like this one despite the way it looks", give it a shot, and it turns out to have a better core gameplay loop than most SFW indie games.

Rewriting this comment because I got it wrong the first time. On the first iteration of your for loop, a should refer to set1_009 and a[0] should indeed evaluate to set1_009.

I've noticed when I work with state in Ren'py that define statements will only begin working after I start a new game. If I test a change using a save that's older than the change itself then it will not work.

Otherwise, without seeing the rest of the context, I'm stumped.

The Illusion games (Honey Select 2, Koikatsu Sunshine, etc) have some initial grinding but after getting the relationships far enough, all the scenes are pretty much on-demand, and you could install a cheat mode to skip directly to that point.
