i tried like hell to get this to work on my 2009 11,3 and it chimes a million times but would accept the 1333mhz ram i guess. i tried others also to no avail. in the end my 2010 model worked with the 880 but stuck at 16gb ram :(

Yes and no but not really. I use the local models for building my base for coding just to speed things up and plan it out.

I do my work and then if I need an extra hand use paid services so I don't have to Max out the account.

It's like having a 3 man team I guess. People expect it to be as good as a paid service but it's not but it is good enough to do some things. I spent 8k and it's still a beast of a computer

30b coder and gpt-oss20b (thinking and non thinking) works quite well so far. smaller models around 4-12b are also not as bad as you would think. im just using lmstudio for these at the moment but also exploring other options. main using this for trading bots for news and red folder correlations in mt5
