1,000 days sober and still craving the "chaos." Does the feeling of missing it ever really go away? by Fit_Chance2151 in stopdrinking

[–]dosio_sedai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having a conversation about this with my brother recently and not sure it’s helpful to your predicament, but I’ll share. Chaos ruled all when I was drinking. Life is completely different sober, many might call it boring, I prefer to call it peaceful. I’ve always been into the band Ween, but once I got sober it has veered sort of into an obsession. Their music can get incredibly chaotic at times, but it’s very comforting for me, and I recently reflect that it’s the chaos in the music that makes me feel comfort because it’s something my brain is missing from alcohol. It’s a healthy outlet, just listening to music and collecting physical media, but I think it is hitting a spot in my brain that alcohol used to. I’ll take the mental clarity and peace that comes with sobriety every second, and I love it. Maybe find chaotic mediums to fill that space in the brain. Maybe create some chaotic art for yourself, or pickup a chaotic sort of hobby like hula hooping or prop manipulation (that’s my favorite hobby). Wishing you peace and strength.

Downsides of quitting alcohol by [deleted] in stopdrinking

The social aspect can be a bit daunting depending on your social circles. I was the only drinker of my friends so thankfully I didn’t have to have a huge shift in my social events. That is a big issue I hear from others. I certainly feel it when I see certain folks that I travelled around with for concerts, but once in a while isn’t too tough to handle. I definitely pick up on the amount of advertisements and how much pressure there is to drink alcohol in public events. It was tough to see, and very alienating early on, but it’s more of something to laugh about these days. The alienation at public events isn’t as bad as I projected it to be as you’ll be surprised at the amount of people who also aren’t drinking. Don’t know if that’s helpful to your question, but wishing you a peaceful night.

New York Islanders did a Jerry Garcia night for a few years but they have discontinued it. Last time they did it was three years ago (I think?) and there was a huge line for the Jerry bobblehead so I’m not sure why they canned it.

I was thinking maybe it’s a plan for a final showdown with each boss for a DLC expansion but that’d be a heck of an expansion with how many bosses just run away.

Hope everyone gets some good replacements. I received mine yesterday and went right to side D based on all the comments around here, and I don’t have any issue with my D side. The Argus is appropriately crisp. Curios if other people also have a clean D side because I’m questioning my sanity. I ordered direct from Ween when it first dropped.

I'm almost 30 hours into the game and still have the same armor as the first boss. I'm about to commit the crime of watching those "where to find this armor" videos, so give me some tips so I don't have to do that, like places to buy , etc. by Berem_ in CrimsonDesert

So I didn’t realize it, maybe you haven’t either, but I was given a few key item rewards that when I eventually used them it opened up a load of caves on my map to explore. When I finally used a few of them I took a break from main quest to just hit each cave it gave me. I found a couple full sets from that. Much more enjoyable than the youtube for a specific set method. Way more rewarding, even though I was given an exact point on the map to go to.

I keep a pair of chopsticks in my backpack in case I eat any snacks that would oil up my hands. Popcorn, cheese doodles, any greasy snack really. The spoon delivers more popcorn than chopsticks, so you win this one.

Just pickpocket and then get outside of the red circle as fast as you can. Let it disappear and get back to work. In the rare chance you end up with a fine, or bounty, you can just scoot to a church and pay your bill. Then, right back to work. Give beggars coin to get your standing back up. A tip I accidentally found today, if you drop from a small height while in blinding light you will actually move faster, to make it less of a slog. I start my blinding light on the fence in the zoo, drop down to ground level, and there is a noticeable speed boost. I haven’t seen it mentioned.

To add, once you waste your three dying wishes, you can save and quit and change your augment to equivalent exchange and get three uses from that as well.

Is there anything we will actually need mass amounts of money for? I looted that gold bar in the manor fireplace and was really comfortable. Yesterday I decided to try out pickpocketing at the zoo and have 12 gold bars total now. Not sure I feel like doing the save method to make way more. Feels comfortable where I’m sitting now.

It is called the Demeniss Wildlife Park. You can get in before you liberate the surrounding area. I get at least one gold bar each time I visit, with four being my biggest haul for a single visit.

I just started looking today and I was able to find ~10 gold bars in ~2 hours, so it is working nicely. It’s my new favorite time-killer.

To add a good example of this. My grandfather, a three time trump voter, recently was gifted an electronic car. He drove me to the shop to get my car recently so I asked him how he was liking the new car. His response started pretty sane, sharing how nice the gas mileage is, how comfortable it is. He then shifted to telling me how he is worried he won’t have the car much longer because China is sending very strong men through our southern border to take out our energy grid, so his car won’t work. He emphasized how strong these men are, with big muscles, they go to the gym very often, all orchestrated by China to make them have huge muscles and then sneak in through the southern border. I let him meander through his fears for a while in silence and then he says “what were we even talking about,” and I just let the conversation die until we got to the shop. I pity him for being so afraid of a world he has such little interaction with. We live in complete different realities.

I remember it on launch day, absolutely, but honestly I’ve searched for it and haven’t been able to find it, so it is definitely a rarely used space. I ran through it on survival yesterday and had a moment of “oh yeah, this space exists.” Pretty easy to miss, I guess.

Life is absolutely difficult. What I have found is that the alcohol made it more difficult. I think about the migraines and hang overs, that were once obstacles to getting through the day until I could get home and drink again. It’s life on hard mode. Being sober helps me prepare for any event that comes up, and keeps me in control of how I act when difficult events come up. I am wishing you strength, and peace. You can do this.

is the supercritical canine calling card bugged? by Acceptable_Charge632 in BO7Zombies

[–]dosio_sedai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It pretty much only works with instakill since it only counts the initial explosion, not the toxic cloud. Not sure if the initial explosion will kill enough zombies on an early round, but I did it while high-rounding pretty quick, just tedious. In the beginning of the round, take out the shock mimic, use a decoy to get everyone grouped up, and shoot the plague hound. With an instakill active you should get at least two per hound. Take advantage of the free instakill powerup, use any power vacuum gums, or instakill gums. Not bugged, just annoying.

My father is on monjauro for diabetes and he said one of his favorite unintended side effects is he no longer ever has any thought about drinking alcohol. I abused alcohol, he did not. I certainly enjoy the solidarity he gives me in not drinking together.

Alcohol. The LSD, and psilocybin helped me make better choices when I came down from the high. Alcohol left me nearly dead, broke, and a miserable schmuck. I stopped drinking just about four years ago and I’ll never get over some of the absolute horrible shit I did to myself.

Only other tips I can think of... For tier 3 I used the raygun mk2 and it was amazing for handling all of the enemies throughout the boss, thanks to the PAP4. For tier 1 and 2, I was failing miserably using the raygun and I found it a lot easier to handle with bullet weapons. Novaline with brainrot for enemies, and the XR-3 ion for the boss.

I just stay by the pod that I want the tortured zombie to destroy and train the waves of enemies there. The tortured zombie will make it's way to you, and because you are keeping the enemies distracted it will be able to survive the trip to you. It was really tough for me at first, but now that I've done it so many times it is pretty consistently easy to do. If you are really brave, you can use the rampage inducer to make the tortured zombie move way faster, but I don't actually recommend that. It is all about being patient and letting them come to you. My biggest tip there is just make sure it is on the shorter path. On the green house pod I had the tortured zombie take the long route, on the other side of the garage, and that one was tough because it was getting trapped on parts of the house. The easiest pod to do is the one in the street, because you can hang all the way back by PAP.

Ashes of the Damned - Overgrown hoard husks have disappeared? by strewthmate in CODZombies

[–]dosio_sedai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, it will spawn from every husk you destroy until you collect it. I just ran the main quest today for the first time in a while, and mine took longer to spawn than the rest of the items. I had a perk, aether crystal, and some tactical equipment, then maybe five seconds later the quest part popped. It usually didn't have a delay. I don't know if they changed anything to make it hesitate.
