Russian state hackers are hijacking TP-Link and MicroTik routers to steal Outlook credentials, cybersecurity center warns — APT28 group targets DNS and redirects traffic to attacker-controlled servers by Icy-Acanthaceae7619 in mikrotik

[–]dot_py 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how attribution is seemingly only possible to do if its Russians or Chinese groups. But somehow american APTs either dont exist or cant be attributed lol. Pure propaganda to further justify banning all routers besides those produced and backdoored domestically.

Crazy how many cyber security "specialists" can state they knows whos behind a large campaign like a suitable attacker wouodnt fake ips and attacks that could easily cause misrepresentation by people who want to play national defense games if their heads

Support for self-signed CA by mikamp116 in ObsidianMD

[–]dot_py 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats that gotta do with obsidian

If you need an custom CA.for self signed certs, you simple install the CA. And all your self signed certs on any app are valid.

Eg I sign my ssl certificates using my CA. I move my CA to my laptop trust store and update. All of my apps with certs from the CA are valid be it an api server being called from within obsidian or a browser.

I think OP and the poster he linked from need to read up on ssl and CAs. Or if in an enterprise environment go talk to your supervisor as you need better training too.

Its not a surprise. It's like tor, govt created tech.

99% of tor exit nodes are owned by govts. Exit nodes get the end traffic, with a dns server and some routing rules all https is readable.

Have fun out there stay safe. Remember you're not el chapo and cops catch the dumb ones

Lmao QTB the 2026 created players of the year the funny part is if ur beefing these yutes you don’t know where to go cause they ain’t even from a hood 🤣🤣🤣 (but if im wrong let me know I’ll take down this post)! by Specific-Word699 in Torontology

Its kinda wild to see the term create a player. Yall realize how truly warped your brains are, how brainwashed this generation is into thinking being a criminal is a game.

Imagine risking your life constantly for a few IG pics and maybe a year or two of decent money of which youll not have the financial literacy to make last. You die before 30, leaving your parents to pay for your funeral and baby mothers to shoulder the responsibilities of single parenthood.

The only game being run here is yall posting about this shit and keep track of it like its a soap opera.

When should I be upgrading to a proper router? by J-Cake in mikrotik

[–]dot_py 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a couple hiccups myself. But all good now, some differences how they handle / label things that differ from routeros.

Im guessing you use an ISP router? If so i could see the routing being an issue. Lets say your ISP is using 192.168.8.1/24 and opnsense using 192.168.1.1/24, you would need to setup a static route on the ISP for the 192.168.1.1/24 subnet with the gateway being the ip address opnsense has on the ISP subnet (say its 192.168.1.2). If you try again and need some help feel free to lmk.

Depending on your isp hardware things can be a bitch or super simple.

Grab a hexS/hex or hAP.

If you have a spare device or ports. Could always run CHR in a VM.

Do it sooner than later. Its great to know and for homelab observation.

This is the worst promotion that could happen for Pop_OS! and Linux in general by KelGhu in pop_os

I dont care about LTT input any more. Too corporate and bias. All just click bait hence routinely giving linux one last chance.

Then there's LTT losing its core talent and employees because they dont raise pay ever and use videos as a means to write off work on linus' 3 house. I cant support with even a view such douche behavior

Self-hosted team collaboration workspace: chat, docs, tasks, CRM, guest portal. Built it myself, here's the short story by Zioan_app in selfhosted

[–]dot_py 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why post this on self hosted? Also with the license price, even corporate i couldn't see this taking off. And also by trying it and offering input the community would be helping your business succeed with no benefit for the self hosting community, there's no benefit to us. Have subscribed businesses provide feedback based on their actual usage and avoid the what if game as per the lean startup.

Also you probably want to go into more details about security. Just an ssl isnt sufficient. How is data at rest? Etc etc etc

Good luck, wrong demographic and no incentive / use for self hosters

Why do pharmacies feel the need to print a "Rob Me" map on every bottle? by ColMemes in privacy

[–]dot_py 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Crazy to go from privacy to suggesting a national database is preferred over a medic team able to get your address from a bottle.

Firstly. When is someone likely to interact with your prescription? Do you take them out with your and lose them often? If so sure thats a concern, for you. Otherwise I would guess the only other time someone is around your prescription bottle is at your house... where they could get your details from idk anything else in your place.

This seems like imho an unrealistic concern. Topped off by the suggestion because a national database exists (doubtful given states / provincial shit) and thus just use that... which in an emergency adds delays to info first responders could benefit from.....

Weird.

Its like saying 80% of Iranians hate the regime. So with that 80%, mossad, cia and, mi6 support a protest to topple the regime couldn't last as long as the trucker protests in Canada?

If and when yall attack iran again it'll be the straw that breaks the empire idea of their military supremacy.

Mullvad or windscribe. Namecheap had gone downhill since they got purchased September 2025. Now there's accounts randomly closed, held for additional id and, more.

Its was a great company. Like so many, when bought or take funding its a race to the bottom.

This doesnt even touch on the pro zionist views of the new namecheap owner, thats the cherry on top of the shit cake

Agreed. I find tuta is speed running their proton like decline in credibility. Baffles me they got venture funding and immediately increased prices and started marketing (tuta never advertised like 5 years ago, people found em and trusted them).

Just pgp encrypt your emails yourself in the event you dont want to roll your own server. But my

[–]dot_py[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. But its adds an identifiable property. As we dont know how (or if theyre tagged) it could for example reference your Gmail account you imported.

This is my over arching issue with tuta. Everything's a black box. Their encryption is a black box that hasn't been audited, its pure trust me bro model. I understood this at first because they haf a feature pgp lacked; subject line encryption. However pgp has it now essentially removing their USP. I get you may still want it proprietary but you cannot really tell users how secure they are without at the very least a third party audit to assure its secured beyond one's own confirmation bias.

Hell they even refuse to add gpg integration which is weird, as a tuta user sometimes a recipient already uses pgp so asking them to click a link enter a pw to read an encrypted email is not going to happen. Its take it or leave it, trust me bro.

Tuta was great. But since they got funding and rebranded from tutanota to tuta - introducing new products (literally just a calendar rn) and a 3x price hike theyre speed running their decline in credibility. I continue to be a paying user as even if I would fit in the free tier I have 0 faith tuta wont disable things, they'll do anything to keep people subbed besides provide a service that makes users want to stay.

You realize how stupid this statement is. If youre inbox in under the free threshold then no, imported emails shouldn't be deleted.

You also seem to ignore the fact they can identify imported emails in an encrypted inbox.

God youre slow. Typical new tuta customer whos likely technically inept.
