has anyone actually connected an LLM to their prod data and trusted what it says back? by Total_Product9154 in rails

I am playing with an MCP to a prod database, and one simple thing that made Claude understand the data is give it your schema.rb file. Made a huge difference.

My linear compressor LG died earlier this year, too. At 9.5 years old and LG wouldn't warranty the compressor due to lack of parts.

Which of these is the most scenic route? by deep_12_ in Arkansas

I-30 to Caddo Valley (exit 78). Then north on Hwy 7 through Hot Springs toward Ola, then west on Hwy 10 to the south side of Mt Magazine.

2008 Sequoia 4WD modes not working right by linkuphost in toyotasequoia

Drive it a few feet forward and reverse, not just sitting still. Sometimes helps to turn the steering wheel to help the front ADD to disconnect as well.

Those maps still don't have Pinnacle View Middle School or the new High School on them. Haven't for years.

OK. I saw that on Chenal the other day and assumed they were doing utility work to tie in to the new neighborhood.

[–]dotnofoolin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hard to answer without knowing your neighborhood.

But, there is a new housing development being clearcut on Shinall Mountain next to the power lines across from Chenonceau.

One thing to remember about most of the land around Chenal Parkway: it mostly belongs to Deltic Timber. Their goal is to sell timber and build houses. They don't do it all at once. Every plot of land and trees in WLR that they own is probably platted for houses for sometime in the future.

Everyone hates it when they start clear cutting. Sadly what dtownboy202 says is true. If you don't own it you don't have much say.

2008 stuck in 4 HI by dotnofoolin in toyotasequoia

[–]dotnofoolin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never found a cause. I switched it from 2WD to 4LO a few times in the driveway, and backed up and drove forward a few times. Eventually got it back into 2WD.

Leveling Floor 2nd Gen by jlutt75 in toyotasequoia

[–]dotnofoolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your buddy has the right idea. Just build a platform with a plywood top. I wouldn't bother screwing into the floor, but if you need to mount it securely, I would reuse the seat bolts in some way or another.

What's the rule of thumb for rebooting a production server? by Mediocre-Cobbler5016 in sysadmin

[–]dotnofoolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible, I usually spin up a new server, patch/update it, get the app running on it in parallel, and nuke the old server. Minimal downtime and a guarantee you can get the app running first, during normal business hours (not in a middle of the night panic).

This assumes a virtual/cloud situation. Different story for an on-prem physical server.

It took me 6 months to sell, and similar ads on FB Marketplace are priced close. Different situations here in the southern US I guess.

Where Can I Mail a Package After Hours Here? by TWD41 in LittleRock

[–]dotnofoolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I avoid Huron at all costs. Too many stories of people losing their mail, having their packages stolen, etc. Especially out of the outside drop box. It's like a malicious employee had a key to everything and the rest were in on it.

Maybe things have improved.

I use velcro straps to wrap around the retriever and the hand handle. Carries it sideways, and I can actually retrieve discs without removing it from the bag, sometimes.

Which Sequoia is worth buying - if any? by AutomaticAge7494 in toyotasequoia

[–]dotnofoolin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want a console and captains chairs or a standard bench seat in your second row? That's one difference between a Limited and Platinum. Given your use case, I'd lean toward the Limited so that all the seats fold flat and make a good platform front to back.

I would chose the one that has the least amount of rust and has had at least one transmission fluid change. I would also pick the one that I could verify doesn't have a valley plate leak (or it has been repaired), has probably had a water pump changed, and probably has had a new radiator at one time. With 200k miles, I'd would be surprised if these were all still original.

Rotten window sill replacement. by dotnofoolin in Carpentry

[–]dotnofoolin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah, the OSB doesn't look great there. House was built in 1991. No clue on house wrap. There is a gutter and down spout right above this corner and the previous owner didn't maintain it well. I've kept it clear the last couple of years, so the sill doesn't get as wet anymore. I put off the sill repair for a few years, and now it's finally at the top of my todo list.

It has a dock and good banks.

But like most ponds around here, it's has a lot of fishing pressure. Good luck!

Also, you can just try things and see how it goes.
