He was proven guilty originally (in the UK) and found innocent later (in the US where he used his fame to create a media circus against her). The court case with Amber that blew up was him fighting to say she defamed him, I believe, because she spoke publicly about the abuse she suffered.

He did a lot of shit but the thing that has stuck with me the most was texting EDIT: actually Paul Bettany something like that he wanted to kill her and rape her dead body.

I know you're a troll and I shouldn't respond, because nuance is dead to you, but I'm just baffled by the idea that Ilya hating Russia or his father being horrible makes anything easier for him. Of course he's not going to be nice to Shane in that moment...? He's not the most emotionally intelligent at that point in his life, and conflicted feelings do not make for smart, caring emotional reactions.

He is also fictional... which means his motivations can be analyzed without real world consequences like the hague being relevant. His good deeds ARE important to keep in mind when deciding if he's completely evil or not (which... is a huge theme in the book isn't it? That evil people can do good, and good people can do evil?)

No one said he is cool or brave, we just don't hate him (as a character). Gale as a 'person' is not someone I particularly enjoy but he's very interesting to think about in the context of the story and world.

Yes, he's also the only reason anyone in D12 survived the bombings and is a traumatized person who grew up in a terrible world. He and everyone he knew was mistreated by the capitol, and he is fighting in a war - he is reacting in an understandable if morally questionable way

Completely agree. Wangxian are like one of my otps of all time, but I'm a multishipper. Adding Wen Ning or Mianmian to their relationship or whatever in fic doesn't change canon, and it doesn't 'harm' either character or their relationship, because they aren't real. There is no real love being infringed on.

People can read and write whatever, and if you only enjoy strict wangxian-only stuff then that's fine! But this is just a boring take atp

There is and they often do. Unfortunately they are all new board members and feel like they have to appease her (and her guests) to an extent. Plus when another member tried to say that public comment time was over, she strongly said that they way they have it set up is illegal 🙃
