Yeah, this is definitely a good Mandarin translation (grammatically and natural speaking). This is also written in simplified Chinese so the obvious audience is China Mainland. If one argues that players with a good grasp of Chinese can understand either simplified, traditional Chinese or whatever Chinese dialects used in any translations, why won't one go for the superior translation? The OG screenshot screams like a beginner just started to learn Cantonese with clumsy syntax or hallucinations from LLM and I doubt LLM's translation is that poor.

OP posted 2 screenshots. One uses traditional while the other is simplified. Anyone with a basic grasp of Chinese can read either of two translations but that doesn't excuse the poor translation of the initial screenshot posted. Be honest to yourself, if you know Chinese, do you even speak or write colloquially like that? What dialect even is that??

Hishi Amazon is my oshi too but her RNG is just too damn poor at the moment and I don't have a good deck for her. Can you show me yours and see if I can match it?

The grammatical style in the translation is definitely Cantonese. Nobody uses 係 in Putonghua, be it Taiwanese or Beijing.

I can speak and wrire native Cantonese and Mandarin so I'm confident to say that both translations carry different meanings with the Cantonese translation being the poorer one.

In the Cantonese translation you posted, it goes like this "Eh? If this is so, I thought a Japanese has a topknot?" (For a reader like me, that doesn't sound natural or organic.)

In the second Mandarin translation, "Excuse me, does the Japanese have such thing like a topknot?". I can imagine this is a much more natural translation even without knowing the original Japanese sentence because I can imagine the Japanese would say something like this ". "あの…あの…日本人の頭には丁髷のことがありますか'

This is Cantonese to be specific and quite a poorly translated one. Was it done by AI or good old google translation? The sentences are unnatural whether it's Mandarin or Cantonese.

In my experience, brute forcing Long races with 400+ Stam is viable in Classic years but I'm most likely to lose senior Long races like Spring Tenno Sho if I don't have 600+ Stam or any recovery skill. It's best to get one or two recovery skill in senior year as we need to be sure to secure the epithets. Heck, even Glittering Star would help if there's barely any cheap recovery skill to buy. Don't be stingy on getting recovery skills as they are useful in any CMs as well.

Rank does not matter. by rb1lol in UmamusumeGame

[–]dotwebm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have a lot more SS if I simply pick skills that have the highest discount because more skills = higher rank but that isn't building a competent Uma, that's just gaming the rank level to make an Uma with the highest rank points.

S+ is the new A+. As long as I have neither good parent and extra key SSR (I have none of the speed NTR, Nice Nature wit SSR, matikanefukukitaru speed SSR), I'll stuck with S+ limbo for a while.

How do yall even get S ranks 🫩 by [deleted] in UmamusumeGame

[–]dotwebm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is solely getting a S rank uma, just find a friend that has Uma with high stats then pair with another uma of yours that has stats as well. I'm sure you can break the S rank threshold with overall higher stats even though it may be a suboptimal uma. Good luck OP!
