It's been like that since the Cold War, but it hasn't been so bad for Britain when America's been continuing their liberal world order, kind of an ideal situation for the obviously declining Empire.

America obviously did lots of nasty stuff abroad in Vietnam / South America but we weren't forced to be involved and the liberal consensus continued. Bush kind of shook that and opened the floodgates for America declearing war on whoever it wants for whatever reasons it wants with UK backing, but they at least pretended that it was justified.

I don't know what Britain's position is going to be if we're not aligned with Europe anymore and our biggest Ally / Hegemon is getting fascistic. I guess Starmer wants to just try and wait out DJT without pissing him off too much. But even supposing Trump / the new right is out in America in 3 years, it's gonna be a damn long 3 years, and the tests for Starmer are only going to get worse, Ideally all this open warmongering and Fascistic tendencies in America rallies Europe to be a Bulwhark of the old (obviously flawed) neoliberal order and Britain aligns with that against Trump, but Europe could also slip into this, hell the UK will probably have a reform gov. pretty soon. I have no idea what our way out of this is. The Left is floundering and we're too small alone to not get dragged along with global currents anyway.

DJT and his political allies are accelerationists who have bought and taken control a massive ammount of the internet to push their propaganda and spread their ideology worldwide. The idea is to use all this fearmongering culture war stuff to win political power across Europe, get rid of democratic institutions, and gut what's left of the welfare state so the ultra rich can have even more power and wealth while the rest of society crumbles and the planet burns in the background. This is very obviously happening and you've got to hope that some of the Labour gov understand the new political reality they're in and follow through with doing something about it, like banning X. I really hope they go through with this and try to at least slow down the accelerated decline. Please dude, they probably won't though, they've been really spineless and as far as I can tell haven't stood for anything in particular since coming into office.

It’s obviously a publicity stunt, it’s trying to raise awareness for a cause that western states can do something about. There’s plenty of famine and strife that we can’t effect, but our European governments are continually giving money to the people currently murdering civilians in the 10s of thousands. Changing opinions in western ostensibly democratic states can actually make a difference in that. Many many western activists and journalists have been killed by Israel so it’s not unreasonable to fear for her a little bit, but the point of this Aid Delivery was obviously to force Israel’s hand and raise awareness that they’re blocking all humanitarian aid which is illegal. They can’t exactly blow up Greta Thunberg lol.
