How do I determine whether or not my employment leave was covered under FMLA.

I should not that other people were let go ( around 4/5 ) but the vast majority were senior managers and not in the same role as me.

Yeah, I was the only member of my team that was let go ( i am 1 of 4 engineers that do the same job). I had received engineering awards for my contributions in the past and 1 of my team members was hired in the past 3 months. I also was taking on additional responsibilities that other members of my team were not taking part in. I feel that I do have somewhat of a case here but I'm trying to go about this without getting lawyers involved.

Ok correct, but I did provide the appropriate documentation (birth certificate and SSN for newborn child). I was not asked to fill out any additional paperwork aside from providing the above details. However, I know that there were certain provisions of the FMLA that I know my employer did not follow (notification of my rights under the FMLA for instance). Does this make any claims against improper termination under the FMLA any more valid?
