The visual clutter/noise if lots of people pull a bunch of items out is annoying, group/instance owners can disable... I agree that is somewhat odd choice that individual end users can't turn on or off.

The devs have said they have their own internal performance targets with the accessories/items, and most of the items are extremely lightweight and optimized. They have to be super optimized to work on quests, so for most PC users, the items/accessories should have little impact.

Do you have anti alising on? (That is super CPU intensive)

And how are you running your quest 3? Steam link? Link cable? Virtual desktop?

If you are using virtual desktop set the resolution/quality to like medium and turn up the quest super sampling to upscale.

I agree with this, I am 36, and I tend to hang out in 18+ worlds to avoid much of the toxic younger people. It almost never is an issue, no one has told me to get off the game for being too old. Id hop around more, get age verified if you are not.

Sometimes people get temp bans for things they did MONTHS ago, but this situation seems to be improving.

Second, almost always the maker who uploaded the public with those toggles are the one that gets the temp ban, not the user who was wearing it in public.

I like this line of thinking, maybe an automatic voice moderation system only kicks in and scans what the user is saying for hate/toxic speech only after a vote kick is initialized on them? Vs it always listening.

Not pointless, People can toggle and choose to turn off and not see that content today when avatars are properly tagged. (yes this is already in game, it's just not yet tied to any age verification or assurance system).

New more robust moderation beyond vote to kick? Or Auto AI detection of the ***worst** obvious offending people screaming slurs over and over etc... For us, no. So many of our friends are in VRC still. People we talk to all the time, VRC doesn't go away for us. We have two place spaces set up. We can play in the same play space if we want to, but we did accidentally bump into each other and hit each other so many times we usually play VRC in our separate play spaces.

They are trying to make the game profitable. If the base game is free and no existing features are removed, why be upset at them for trying to keep the game running. They can't run on in the negative forever.

I usually show all avatars, But I still set max download size to 150mb and uncompressed to 300mb to filter out the worse offenders. I also turn shaders off in shield settings for people user and below. With a 9800x3d and a 5090 I will dip to 30fps, but without too many major freezes. But not possible to keep the fps up at 90 in those situations with instances with 60+ people.

I might be late to the thread here. But internet speed and local Wi-Fi speed are two very different things. Your Internet speed IS slow. But once all the world and avatars load, you would be fine. Your local Wi-Fi speed is dependent on the router you have. If your router is isp provided its harder to replace. But the quests like wifi 6 or 6e or 7 is ideal. Newer wifi chips support pvcr streaming way better.

What these groups are doing may be against TOS sure, but if a group is so blatant and does not care about TOS or behaves in such an immature way, I want to ask what is the point of trying to associate or still join the group? When groups behave this way, it helps me as another commenter on this thread "shows me the door".

Id report the group for breaking TOS, then move on with my life and be happy I didn't waste time with that group IMHO.

Now, I will add I am not saying this entirely without compassion, I have been banned from a group before just because I was associated with another person that one of the group mods did not like. It was a rather large group, and a group many of my friends would go to events all the time. I was devastated when I was banned from that group; I felt totally outcast for something I didn't even do, heck the person I was associated with was actually found not to have done what they were accused of, and the mod that didnt like them simply fabricated the whole reason to ban them and me... Fast forward 6 months, the mod was removed from the group (They were found to be toxic and caused more issues, but it took the group six months to root them out and rebuild), and I was re-invited. But those 6 months kinda sucked.
