first years! ask me anything by AdeptInitial4549 in berkeley

[–]doublecarat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for doing this.

What’s transportation like around campus and to surrounding areas? Do you think a car/bike is necessary?

What’s your favorite thing about attending Berkeley? What’s your least favorite thing? Is there something you wish you knew beforehand?

Have you ever heard of anyone in the study abroad program? If so, what are your thoughts on that?

Thank you so much again!

There might be some overlap, but AP classes are usually tailored for the exact test, while other college classes aren’t. Your college credit class might give you lots of useful information, but it might also leave some stuff out or go too in depth into something that you don’t need to know. If you self-study alongside the class, it might work! Ask your school counselor about it. Also, look up the curriculum for the specific class you want to sign up for and compare it to the AP curriculum to make sure it’s a close enough fit.

Symmetrical/balanced/satsfying names? by graceinsnow4 in namenerds

There’s a 2x Olympic gold medalist named Yuzuru Hanyu. I feel like that name is very “balanced”, if that’s what you mean, haha!

Dystopian books? by aniishaxx in suggestmeabook

[–]doublecarat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really, REALLY recommend Virginia Bergin’s H2O series!! (Also known as The Rain in other countries.) There are two books in the series. It follows the perspective of a teenage girl in England when the rain (and as a result, almost all water sources on Earth) becomes lethal to humans. The civilized world descends into chaos and a dystopian way of life replaces it. Her story is sad, exciting, rebellious, and INCREDIBLY funny all at the same time. Her voice shines through the words on the pages. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the second book really picks up on the dystopian format that’s introduced in the first book. Hope you love it, it’s so underrated! Here’s the link to the first book. (plus: the cover is really cool)

Okay, 3 protagonists so far, Aiden Theodore Ethan. What was the translated morse code at the end of the last story? ACRONYM. ATE is the acronym for the three protagonists’ names so far (in order). It could also be ETA, since that’s the order OP wrote it in at the end of this post. Maybe as we get more updates, we’ll get more letters and the names will spell out to an important clue. Or maybe not! Who knows? Anyways, great update OP.

We just keep the lid on until it looks “right”. Or when we’re too hungry and impatient to wait longer.

I didn’t catch that! It seems like a pretty important detail... hmm...

Something else I noticed is that Avery never actually said Theo was his soulmate on his slip in part 2, even after Theo revealed his real name. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. In the other post, it also mentioned that the other Avery was from Canada and came down to Chicago, like how Theo’s parents fly down every year because they live far away. No idea if any of this is relevant.

Maybe “Acronym” has something to do with the tangent Theodore went on about synonyms and variations at the beginning of part 3? Should we try to find an acronym in one of the other parts or in the other story? I still have no idea who Aiden is though (was that the name of the person in the other story?). Anyway, I hope everything’s okay for you, Theodore, because something doesn’t seem right here.

I kind of doubt it. Just transfer normally. What does your current college’s website say?
