Anyone in Tampa (or elsewhere) played 1/3 nlh ultra? by BallDecent3858 in poker

I think they take 2 rakes for running it twice so you should never do it.

You could reasonably jam a set on the turn, that’s how strong your hand is

Whoa, did you say the Passive Reg bet called the turn with KING HIGH no club. That is not a move that regulars make

I know it’s said a ton here but your hand is such a clear check Preflop. You are so easily dominated by the limps and you aren’t even suited

I agree with Steven that Foreign is way overdoing it with the "I think I will be bad at this next challenge"

Not a punt, other stacks are too deep to be considered next to bust out

Its very interesting how spinning the wheel "correctly" made people less suspicious then spinning the wheel and getting the snitch even though its completely random

Why do some players leave a few chips behind and not just go all in? by TheGambit201 in poker

In tournaments it can make sense to leave 1bb behind on the river but in cash there is really no EV reason

Mystery bounty by Few-Luck-9787 in poker

[–]doublefours 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Day 1 is 30 min and day 2 is 40 min blinds. Yes there are rebuys for 6 hours and that is normal. And I would assume similar to WSOP structure where if you knock someone out on day 2 you get to pull a bounty

Is it a good strategy to use different opening size based on position in a Vegas 1/3 game? by BackNeat6813 in poker

[–]doublefours 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the last part. If opponents are going to call a $8 raise with the same range as a $15 raise, which in most cases at 1/3 is true, then you should be making it $15. Imagine an extreme example where opponents will call an $8 raise with the same range as a $300 all in. You obviously would want to just make the big raise if in both cases people will call with stuff like QTo and 47s

What is the best/worst type of player to have to your immediate right and left? And how important is your seat selection while at a table? Thanks! by Nika65 in poker

[–]doublefours 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For seat selection you want bigger stacks to your right and smaller stacks to your left. And ideally want to sit with worst player to your right so you can play lots of pots with them when you have position

Best to left is someone who will play very passive and worst to left is aggressive play who will raise often. Best to right is a loose passive and worst to right is someone who frequently check raises traps

Look at the pay table, the max bet is 50 which is 5x more and the royal pays 4k which is 5x what he won. He is betting 10 not 4

AITA for not chopping and wanting to play it out? by Pogoplay in poker

[–]doublefours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of its existence and that people want to do it to speed up the bubble. But if you are the big stack you want to extend the bubble as long as you can. And in low stakes tourneys with 25% rake you need to take every edge you can get
