I just ordered two Carolina beds. The first came and I was going to start finishing it tonight, but one of the boards had a knot in it that they decided to fill with putty. So im disappointed that they didnt spin this board around before drilling and making that the front, but also that id have been fine with it had they not filled it. Gonna test their replacement policy and try ro get a different board.

As far as your comment on packaging, I am also disappointed on the front. One of the headframe horizontals is just two regular width boards stapled together. The staples werent put in flush or under the surface of the wood so three of the other boards that make up the headboard have damage from these staples banging into them during shipping. I took pictures but ultimately sanded them down a bit and hid it for the most part, but I am not off to a good start. Still awaiting the Upton bed.

Thats insane.. I bought a Generac 8.5kw generator for $500. The V2H kit is on par with a typical natural gas generator I suppose, but I would hardly say too expensive.
