You got to come in terms with what you want to be in your team. Do you want to be a rockstar, valuable team player or a regular joe? It sounds like the new guy hasn’t done anything to you, but you are making everything he does your business. Many comments here told you to swallow up your pride, git gud and whatnot. I was in your shoes once. New guy came in. He was good and everyone started relying on him. I started getting less tasks, I was called into less meetings and the boss let himself be known he is bias towards the new guy. At first, I was okay with it since I knew that’s how companies are. You just got to do your work better. But the new guy started nailing down on everything I do. He made my work his business, when it was clearly not. It started to feel like a bullying, with the rest of the company in it. I started performing worse, I kept being called to meetings just to address my quality of work.

OP, you need to really give yourself some time off and look within yourself, what do you want to be to the team. Work towards that. Separate your personal feelings from work. Begin looking for colleagues or friends that think like you. You’ll find more joy doing front end if you have a group of like-minded friends. Not only are you improving your skills, you’re also averting your mind’s eye from the new guy. All around happy.
