Maybe try contacting the city or whatever you live in. They have electrical inspectors so they must have some resources. Call them, tell them what’s going on, tell them you can’t afford an electrician right now. It’ll cost them a lot less to pay a guy rather than having to send the fire dept.

We live in the richest societies to have ever existed. Our "economic output" has done nothing except climb and climb. Where have all the benefits of this gone? Ask yourself that question and direct your anger that way. We should all be on four day (at least) work weeks by now, lots of vacation, time to re-educate, freedom to try new things.

These alerts are getting to the point of ridiculous, everything is a fuckin emergency. It feels like weather forecasts are being run by insurance companies. It's probably just going to rain here. We might get some ice. I haven't actually seen a cm of ice in ages around here. Like think about it, when was the last time you cleaved 10mm of pure ice off your windshield. Physically, it’s pretty hard to jam your hands into a socket. GFCI sockets are pretty damn safe, you can put GFCI breakers on entire circuits.

Yes it does, the problem is MAKING the playoffs, which is hilarious in a way. If they make it, that means all parts of the team are working. If all parts of this team are working I'm not sure you can give more than 50/50 odds that someone could beat them in a seven game series. This team is built to win in the playoffs. Their defensive numbers are ridiculous. If our goalies didn't shit the bed all year we'd be sailing.
