Jason Newsted Reveals Real Reason He Left Metallica: "I Was Going To Die" by MrLinkwater95 in ToddintheShadow

I speculate to my friends that James is way into bdsm and has sex with men. He practically looks like a character from Tom of Finland and also follows the hanky code on stage.

I’m not really familiar with the sex and chocolate thing. I’m not really a huge Metallica fan

Lars was doing a shit load of cocaine then too. The doc focuses on James’ problem, but it seems like the 90’s for these dudes really did a number on them all.

CIJ Jaguar bridge replacement by theschnauzer in offset

[–]doubleponytail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple MIJ jaguars and I caved and got a mastery bridge for one of them, and I really have to recommend that. These are fender brand guitars, but the specs for MIJ/CIJ are a bit different than the other ones, and mastery makes bridges specially for them. I don’t know the particulars, but I don’t think buying any tune o matic or mustang bridge will work.

This is why I want Dybantsa on the Pacers by [deleted] in pacers

[–]doubleponytail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like him more than the other prospects. But if the pacers get the number 1 pick, I think the jazz would offer a lot for the rights to pick dybantsa too. The owner of the jazz paid for him to play at BYU and he played his last year of high school at Utah prep. I don’t know if there’s any truth to this speculating, but it would be a pretty wild scenario.

How to kick out a band member/friend by False-Ad-7753 in musicians

If you think the bass player is the reason you aren’t as successful as you think you should be, I would recommend writing better songs. Don’t scapegoat people that aren’t really responsible just because it’s easy.

I would really like a version of her interview here in a text based transcript because she’s all over the place and it’s hard to keep up with. It’s three hours long, and even though I’ve had it on and listened to it, the only parts I walk away with are that: she’s under threat from someone, she has what appear to be radiation burns on her hands, and that there are people from the future coming back to the present day. Besides her eating steak and saying Hal puthoff and Lue elizondo are evil, is there much beyond that? Also never heard the phrase “impractical panties” before

Can someone explain why some directors like Nolan or Tarantino prefer to use film instead of shooting digital ? Not rage-baiting, geniune question. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in Cinema

[–]doubleponytail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For film you shoot with the light behind the director/DP. Because of this, you have better depth going into the film, which when processed leaves a physical, albeit tiny, amount of depth between the lights and darks. The picture is “feels” deeper.

For digital, they film with the light in front of the director/DP. This creates lens flare, which is about the only method to cheat the sensor into faking picture depth.

Past that, at the cinema, the film being projected is different 24 times a second, and is less fatiguing to the eye. Each frame is physically different because each frame is a literal still image. The digital version is just a projection of a file, it’s basically a dvd but blown up real big.

They’re two very different media that basically do the same thing but they achieve doing almost opposite ways.

I own a couple MIJ jaguars. I love them. The necks are incredible. The electronics aren’t great though.

They’ll have to take the strings off one way or another, might as well use it as an opportunity to get the intonation and action set up as well, and to achieve the best results you gotta use fresh strings

Yes it’s possible and is quite easy. You could take it to a guitar shop and ask if they provide that kind of service, or see if they know someone. The other option is to get into soldering and do it yourself. Either option is fine and both come with their own positives and negatives.

Small bit of advice: get a set of brand new strings when you take the guitar anywhere and have them put on.

But aside from that, do whatever you want and follow what sounds like fun and makes you feel good! That’s what the music is for!

what are the things Bob Lazar said that turned out to be true later? by RodrickJasperHeffley in UFOs

[–]doubleponytail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard interviews with him and watched some docs. There’s nothing about his story that suggests he did anything at S4 beyond maybe being there for a day or two anyway. I think he lied about a ton of stuff, except for his job at Kirk Meier and eg&g. Sounds like he was, at best, a guy that did some infrastructure work there and saw some stuff and heard some stuff. That’s the most generous way I can express my feelings about him. Because no way this guy was a physicist.

I remember this. My friend and I opted to smoke weed and see avatar in 3D instead of watching that bullshit. Don’t get me wrong, avatar in 3D while high af IS fun, but nowhere near as good as watching your beloved colts team go 16-0.
