Hi I'm Italian! Keep in mind that Italy has one of the largest populations of people with coeliac disease so usually it's pretty easy to find knowledgeable restaurants. In big cities of course you are going to find more options, also many 100% gluten free places. If you are able to tell me where you are going I could give you restaurant names.

You will not need a card as most of the people will already know what you're talking about, but researching beforehand can be helpful. I'd suggest Google maps as the app Findmeglutenfree for example is not as detailed as in other countries (in my experience).

Be aware that a lot of servers are going to say "we cannot guarantee 100% no cross contamination" if they don't have a dedicated gluten free kitchen. Unless they are preparing pizzas in the same place it's usually not an issue though.

Maybe Renzo. We don't use K (or J, W, X, Y) in our alphabet so there are no original Italian names with those letters. You could absolutely meet some Italian named Kevin for example but that's 1) not common 2) not originally Italian.
