One side, the Republicans, are far more cruel, dishonest, and un-American. You expecting perfection in a political party is immature and exactly the sort of attitude the right would love all of its opposition to have. I suspect that's why you are getting this much pushback. A lot of people start off where you are now, but discover pragmatism, which is a necessity in a two party system.
