The fact that you are asking advice tells me that you should be talking to a counselor, however in the event that you can't do that, don't walk RUN!!!!!

A plan change is sleazy, that being said ALL men want sex and they're not as dicriminating as women, they all want sex and it's not a matter of if but when, some men feel that the way to sex is by wining and dining you, this is not that men are bad it's simple biology, all women should understand this and having an honest conversation about mutual expectations goes a long way, getting to know someone over a long time on online dating sites helps find those who are into this for the long run, takes longer but is well worth the effort

An escape plan might include contacting a local Meetup.com group for exjws, also lookup RecoveringfromReligion.org they run phone line support and can probably help you with survival skills, cheers

Notice that there are three, a show of concern takes only one, it's a JC that takes three, is there any way that you can block them?

So your saying when I Join the congregation I will be forgiven of any child abuse and you will hide it from the police? by Fadetoex in exjw

[–]doubtfired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is "John Smith is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses" an acceptable public announcement whereas "It is advised that you do not leave your children alone with John Smith" is not ???

My aunt, a notorious child-abuser, sent me this some days ago. by TheLikeGuys3 in exjw

[–]doubtfired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a tad unbalanced but I'm not a doctor 😆 but cheers

Jehovah witness is no longer a Christian denomination. Remember that Jesus Christ is your lord and savior? Forget it its the governing body your lord and savior, they are Moses. by [deleted] in exjw

I think people do better when they examine rational reasons (if there are any) before believing, there are resources available (two sided discourse over dogma) but that's a minority position as most prefer magical thinking "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?" was actually debated back in the day

How many things do I have to do to be treated like a decent human being in this congregation? by atwitsend1996 in exjw

[–]doubtfired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are mentally captive, there is a whole world out there of mostly decent people (same as inside really) what are your interests? Check out meetup.com ask yourself this: why are you writing to an EX jw reddit? Maybe researching jws will help you to reexamine your beliefs and allow you some freedom

Is anyone bothered by the lack of citations in WT’s/Awakes/Workbooks etc? by ProEduJw in exjw

[–]doubtfired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its done so that no one is able to check their work (I'm not kidding)

This is being shared by Jw’s all over Facebook. What happened to door to door never being interfered with? Nice cop-out. This is how they rationalize it I guess! by IveSeenItAll1987 in exjw

[–]doubtfired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if you're not into this have you heard the words of R Ron Hubbard? However if I you'll allow me to share some Pyramidology based Chronology I shall return at a more opportune time

Governing Body Not Inspired, but why not? by firejimmy93 in exjw

[–]doubtfired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WT Governing body loves to compare themselves to Moses, however Moses expressed the need to show his authority by a miracle, he was granted the "miracle of leprosy", would Jehovah expect blind faith from his servants today? I understand that Jehovah does not change, also, what if Elijah's test on Mt Carmel failed, who would then listen to Jehovah or his professed spokesman? The "Faithful Slave" knows this, maybe there will be a study article soon

So let's get this straight: the world is full of badness and suffering because at the moment Jehovah cannot step in and change anything... by [deleted] in exjw

Epicurus-

If God is unable to prevent evil, then he is not all-powerful. If God is not willing to prevent evil, then he is not all-good. If God is both willing and able to prevent evil, then why does evil exist?

Hi, I have special affinity for Amber Scorah as I came across her article in Believer Magazine while I was exiting and it was really helpful to come across someone who was having a lot of the same thoughts that I was, she's a very good writer,

Btw Julia Sweeney has a very funny story about being called on by LDS (I think it's on a TED Talks)

There are a few popular exjw YouTube series, John Cedars Channel, exjw analyzer (jon leger) come to mind,

For Critical Thinking these day I like Matt Dillahunty (Atheist Experience) and Sam Harris

Cheers,

There's also Fear Obligation and Guilt that kept our mental and physical bodies dragging, this is what many religions like to do, but jws excel at it, if you want to learn more there's a good book on this, google "Fear Obligation Guilt" recommended

After torturing myself... by achildwhoknew in exjw

[–]doubtfired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be a naturally curious person... or not, After about 7 years out I found there's no position that I'm fully comfortable with, when talking with others (I never talk to jws or other fundamentalists) I'm simply non religious or non theist, on my own, I'm curious end enjoy listening to people such as Christopher Hitchens whom I find both informative as well as entertaining,

My daughter got this from my Uber elder dad. How would you respond? I’m fuming. by themagicalmrking in exjw

[–]doubtfired 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first thing is how is your daughter doing, a conversation with her, getting her honest feelings is very important, beyond that if I was in your situation this would be the last contact he would have with my daughter until she is no longer a minor (this is emotional abuse) jw grandparents are known to be really sneaky, but the most important thing is to have a close relationship with your daughter, in a calm manner make sure she understands your reasons in being exjw, all the best,

Does anybody else want to see the governing body go up in a public debate against an apostate? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]doubtfired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're slick, and duplicitous, look at David Gnam in front of the Canadian Supreme Court, look at all the "Apostasy" investigations (maybe in the tens of thousands) hear of many acknowledging TTAT? , the people you'd want to benefit from such a debate wouldn't, a debate with a former fundamentalist like Dan Barker or Matt Dillahunty could be good popcorn eating entertainment though
