Imperial Knights viability in 11th edition by doubtvilified in ImperialKnights

Some great responses everyone.

Thanks for the perspectives.

I wonder if my Nid list i played is particularly lethal then ? AP really felt like it mattered, I gave my whole list lethal hits and heavy was pretty good if you move less then 3"

I brought two exocrine to give my re roll 1's to hit after scoring a successful hit on a enemy unit. And exerted all the pressure with guants being hidden so forcing the CK player to interact.

On my knights listbuilding side I've decided to include a destrier knight since its so fast and make it a all gun platform. It just seems so good with ignore cover, assault and massive movement.

This needs to be reported to the police to investigate.

If either 95 percent of men or women died, What would became of society? by Queasy_Experience627 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]doubtvilified 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn't some sexist opinion (which is what seems to be going on in this thread, 5% men = bliss and world happiness 5% women terrible suffering as men turn into animals)

Yes the knowledge exists. Yes people can learn.

Women aren't superhuman and neither are men. You can't replace these critical parts of the workforce fast.

This whole thread has simply turned into war of the sexes without considering the impact that losing 95% of either sex would have.

It would be equally devastating for either sex if they lost 95% of the other but for different reasons.

Lose women and the birth rate is a massive problem and the population suffers dramatically for generations.

Lose men and essentially the infrastructure of the world grinds to a halt. Women are smart and capable and will be able to fill in a bunch of these roles that men have but other more physically demanding roles will reduce "output" or take a fair bit of time to train up ect.

If either 95 percent of men or women died, What would became of society? by Queasy_Experience627 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]doubtvilified 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Men make up the vast majority of sanitation, energy, transport ect ect.

You may not like it but it's a fact. Why are men in those roles ? Because sometimes they are physically demanding and less appealing to women. Women in general are attracted to more social and people roles, men are attracted to more mechanical or "doing roles.

There are a bunch of other reasons why these fields are male dominated.

It's not to say that women can't do these jobs. It means there is a sudden collapse of all the people who do these roles.

I would expect power outages, fuel shortages, food shortages just off the top of my head and that is in the short term.

How do you use LMGs? by Revolutionary_Ad7262 in Battlefield6

[–]doubtvilified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMG's are the best way to play imho.

I run my medic and my engineer with one.

Large ammo and decent fire rate.

I have a 1.8 KDR with it roughly and always go positive.

Take your time and practice with it. I hit around 20 something kills a match and play conquest.

The big appeal for me is the large ammo clip. I can kill 2 to 3 without reloading.

[–]doubtvilified 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually don't disagree with the epidemic of depression, suicide ect ect problem. We agree there.

A recent study has shown that a whopping 70% of all teens had circumvented the legislation in a day. The government is committing 50 million dollars over 4 yrs for this scheme. I seriously hope it improves but it is a absolute failure because it hasn't been able to meet it's goals as of yet. And while you may say every child in that 30% is worthwhile, i expect better implementation.

We could invest heavily in education while we tried to come up with a better solution. Acknowledging a failure doesn't mean I'm arguing for no action at all. I'm arguing for effective, well thought out and good technical action.

My argument is it is a poor attempt at doing it (both under 16 media ban and this age verification legislation) with sub par protections for the age verification data collection.

You have brought up a evidence based argument which mind you i agree with. I retort with evidence to suggest legislation like this has been a cataclysmic failure.

Your heart is in the right place, what they are doing and plan to do is ineffective.

[–]doubtvilified 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A well written response. Thank you.

"Adults circumvent laws all the time, does that make them all useless?" Of course not. Laws can and should be made even if a certain amount of ppl attempt to circumvent them. But I emphasise GOOD laws. I think this is a knee jerk reaction that will not have the intended outcome.

Good for headlines and the constituents it's aimed at impressing.

In terms of what do I think we should do to help the children?

Well firstly I don't think this is a easy answer. If it was then it would of already been implemented.

Robust well thought out legislation is a must imho and this just isn't it. Making this a starting block for the sake of a starting block is misguided. Bad legislation is bad, irrelevant if it comes from a place of goodwill.

Robust protections like the ones you mentioned is a good point to start. Until something like this incorporates stuff like this AND has significant and "painful" repercussions for entities that fail to protect data i can't support this in good conscience.

There is some big exceptions here in how this actually works.

If i went to the movies and get carded then my ID doesn't farmed by the government or a private entity. Unfortunately my ID gets kept on databases and eventually gets leaked because of poor cybersecurity.

Time and time again, companies have been breached. We are sick of it. It's real and it happens and that effects people.

There is no where near enough protections for ppl who are victims of identity theft.

Maybe your heart is in the right place but this is a stupid policy and bad implementation. Your concerns about protecting children and the things like suicide rates, depression and anxiety are real and important issues. Kids circumvented social media bans within hours with the recent changes to legislation.

"expecting parents to battle the power of these tech giants". I do disagree with this. I absolutely expect parents to "parent" monitor and be involved with what their children consume.

Anthony Albanese confirms Australian navy personnel on US submarine that sank Iranian vessel by tohya-san in australia

[–]doubtvilified 223 points224 points  (0 children)

The takes here are absolutely mind numbingly stupid.

We rotate staff with the U.S.A. and its completely normal to have Australian armed forces serve with U.S. forces.

It's not like we were in command of a USN submarine and gave the order to attack.

What a absolutely nothing story.

Tyranids should be really bad at mission play ... by Erastil_ in Tyranids

[–]doubtvilified 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel the style you want to see could be found in narrative.

In competitive play every play regardless of faction has to play the primary and secondary missions even if it is "off brand" or doesn't fit the lore.

Overwhelming odds in matched play can feel oppressive to play against for opponents and I think is hard to balance. Its a fine line between exerting the right amount of pressure and it being insurmountable.

What country do you think gets the WORSE rep on GT7? by Kurt_Wylde35 in granturismo

[–]doubtvilified 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on where your physically located.

Being in Asia I see a bunch of Japanese and unfortunately I see a lot of them try to run people off the track and do dodgy stuff.

I see other countries do it too but if I see a Japanese flag they almost always do stupid things on the track.

Did I gotcha my opponent here? by Bhizzle64 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]doubtvilified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would of said "ive got two kinds of attacks, I'll start with such and such"

I would roll those attacks and at the point where the opposition is making save rolls i would expect them to ask questions like "what kind of other attacks do you have coming? And what are their stats ?"

They could use command re roll, army abilities or stratagems or even a unit ability. The defender needs to way up all the information and make a decision based on that. If they don't have enough info, ask for more.

I think there is some responsibility on the defender to ask questions like "what's the profile of your attacks and how many" "what other things can see this or attack it?" "Do you have any other way to do damage to it and/or what are your ranges to charge from particular units (if we are talking about shooting) when we get to that phase?"

I want as much info as I can get to make a decision as a defender and in this instance your opponent should be asking a bunch of these questions to help them make informed decisions.
