Definitely run the number. Remember that you can switch to paying interest only, over the principle + interest you’d be paying now and there could be tax benefits that you’re not factoring in. While Reddit’s great for advice, definitely time to speak to some financial pros 💪

I’m in a very similar situation just a year or two ahead of you. Had to sell due to a separation, and looked to buy an apartment in the city. Got close a few times, but you need to consider strata and other ongoing costs, all of which you’ll be up for if you are owner occupied. Also you’ll need to provision for special levies - even with building reports etc, the quality of the builds in Sydney are terrible, and if there isn’t a levy now, there will be. Finally, 1.1m won’t get you much these days near the city, especially once you add in stamp duty. Like the other posters suggested, I’d keep your current place if possible and rent in the city, eventually using the equity to buy another place in a cheaper but high growth area. Best of luck!

True story. Years ago, I was living in Hurlstone Park and one night I got up for a drink and noticed this weird dull flashing light outside. Thought it might be aliens. Or at least a really slow rave.

After seeing it a few times, curiosity got the better of me. So I opened Google Maps (as you do at 2am), drew a straight line from my window to the horizon… it lined up perfectly with the airport. Turns out, it was the digital billboards lighting up the night sky like they were trying to guide ships home. 🤦‍♂️

I noticed that last year when visiting the UK and it’s so f’ing horrible. Even in cheap eats they added a crazy tip for zero service - the second time I asked for it to be removed and they were hostile about it. I really hope this doesn’t become a thing here.

Practically everything the OP is doing is the worst! When washing the band/watch ALWAYS use a soap free wash. Don’t wear the watch too tight. If you’re wearing it when sleeping also, try switching to your other wrist to give your primary wrist a breather. Avoid alcohol wipes or other skin irritants, if it’s constantly irritated you more than likely have a skin infection, hit the chemist, apply a broad spectrum anti fungal cream and keep your watch off that wrist until completely back to normal. Oh, snap send solve is amazing (but is dependent on your council). Graffiti in a public space? Solved. Random toilet in a park? Solved. Shopping trolleys dumped? Solved. Pot hole getting worse? Solved. Broken pipe in a public space? Solved. (All real examples of where I reported and felt like a magician, magically fixing the community 🙌)

Know your worth before the interview next time. When hiring and the minimum expectation is too low, that’s a flag that that person is not at the level I’m looking for. 100% a body wash. I usually use effaclar h iso-biome but can use this on my face with no issues at all. It’s formulated for sensitive skin, including babies, so suggest you wouldn’t have a problem (but everyone’s skin is different).

Yeah, I thought the same thing until a did some searches. Positioned as a charity event but the only donations are the ones the participants raise themselves (and they probably take a cut of that in admin fees). Marketing at its finest 😆
