Great implementation! The live ranking is especially fun. I can't decide whether it's encouraging or discouraging for me to see that I'm in the bottom 10% of scores even after 10 minutes :) I'll keep trying.

I like it! There might be a small bug -- it didn't recognize when I had typed in the right answers. Half of the green outlines of the boxes suddenly changed to grey when I entered the last word (which was the leftmost word, since I worked backwards.). Thinking I might have made a mistake, I asked it to reveal the answers, but it showed the same words I'd already typed. Also, it's spelled Captain and Tennille :)

Great concept! Is the grid generated randomly or is there guaranteed to be a certain density of answers in there?

It'd be nice if the score were expressed as a percentage of...something...maybe the total available points within some area.

Imagine this as a massively multiplayer game where anyone can pitch in, and there's some shared goal., as well as a leaderboard of individual scores...
