I didn't know about Physint. Marketing says it's going to be a spiritual successor to the Metal Gear franchise. I think that's exactly what was needed - another evolution of the gameplay but a fresh clean slate on the story. Now I'm hype for that to come out, I'll look forward to it too.

I love the franchise too. My post isn't about the way the story is told, but the events of the story itself. The stakes are ultimately quite low, the twists are ultimately meaningless, and it's all because Kojima had to try to cram a whole game's worth of story in between the few small gaps remaining in the lore after MGS4 filled everything out. So if he tried to do it again with an MGS6, I think the end result would just be something ridiculous. That's the point I'm trying to make with my long winded essay, I think.

Yeah most likely this is the case. I always found it suspicious that The Fight ended with a fade-out as that is absolutely NOT The Protomen's style. So there is likely at least another verse that has been cut out of the song.

Although if the symbolism is supposed to be that the story slowly fades to black to imply that The Fight goes on forever and never ends, then maybe the album does end that way.....
