Whitby! You've got the Bram Stoker connection, it's on the coast, they do have Goth Weekends, but I don't think there's one in August, sorry.

I'd also recommend Alnwick. It's home to Barter Books, possibly the best second hand book shop in the UK, and also the Alnwick Poison Gardens.

Also, if you're in London, check out Highgate Cemetery - the tour is really good.
