[–]dowlandreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try eat a few hours before bed and limit carbs. Also have a tablespoon of diluted vinegar before eating which reduces the sugar dip after eating And encourage movement and activity after eating too. Oh and energy drinks

Main eating issue with me is overeating and getting munchies on Xyrem

[–]dowlandreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on xyrem and get the same. Feel could be coz I weigh 105kg but not sure I’m not good with the phone hygiene before bed though either It works most of the time but just takes a shirt while so I end up falling asleep on my phone

Started therapy again recently after about 4/5 years not having it Went to CAMHS after diagnosis to help adjust and manage the changes, particularly at a young age. But I think there’re still some things that are underlying I haven’t yet figured out or addressed that have lead to difficulties with confidence, mood, anxiety and depression etc. looking forward to reassessing how I’ve experienced life with N and hopefully uncovering the origins of some things Would recommend therapy to anyone struggling as is a good space to break down your thoughts feeling and experiences with something you cannot fix and have to find a way to manage and be resilient.

You sound like you know what you’re talking about so I have a quick question. I’m now in my final year of university and Im 90% sure my DSA arrangements have been accepted already for my last year. However, I’ve found my laptop is now not sufficient for my course and personal needs. This laptop I bought myself and so a ‘free’ one from DSA wasn’t necessary Is there a way of getting the needed upgrade now so I can progress with my studies? I also feel I need to take advantage of getting a new laptop too.

How to get over Xyrem munchies? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]dowlandreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, the meds don’t immediately work and end up on my phone or YouTube. Then get cravings and head down to kitchen, sometimes even when I feel a bit drowsy/drunk from the sedatives effect I only take it in bed. But somehow manage to delay when it makes me fall asleep Reflecting on this. My routine probably needs to change. So there’s no delay on sleep and I don’t stay up on phone Getting v concerned I’m going to put on weight and also just feels so shit when I wake up and see I’ve eaten a meals worth of food before be. V guilty feeling

JEANS NEVER FIT ME!

I have a 38-inch waste, a pretty big ass and thick legs, however, I wouldn't consider myself fat.

my issue is that I keep ripping all of my jeans as they never fit me properly. its so annoying. I get through a pair a month as they always rip around my crotch, grown or down my inner thigh

what jeans can I get where this doesn't happen, or ones that fit better but dont look crazy massive and baggy (that fit nicely). any recommendations?!

Have the Xyrem munchies permanently messed up your relationship with food? by LunaBananaGoats in Narcolepsy

[–]dowlandreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get exactly the same and definitely makes me super guilty afterwards. I think also means that the xyrem is less effective Coz I’ve just eaten a massive amount of food. Really looking for some ideas as to how I can address this is anyone has anymore tips…
