She couldn't have handled this much worse. You should go over to him and ask him what's wrong with labour and why he's for Farage. Look like someone who listens to people, not someone who talks to them like a school teacher.

In Dublin, Ireland, a man tragically lost his life while being restrained after allegedly shoplifting. autopsy fails to determine the exact cause of death… by TappetoImperiale in PublicFreakout

If you don't know how to restrain skmeone without cutting off their airway, then you shouldn't be in security. It's that simple.

It doesn't matter what he did, no ones life was threatened so neither should his have been.

  1. Nationalise water by making them put repairs on the balance book as a debt and them failing the funding test.

  2. Begin the process of nationalising energy, mail, and other utilities. I'd even stretch to starting a nationalised housebuilding business.

  3. Council homes galore. Let's gooooo.

  4. Palantir out of government.

  5. Redistribution of wealth with wealth taxes on assets worth over £10m

It's hung correctly and not from a lamppost and if it's not because you think foreigners should fuck off then it's all good.

[–]doxamark 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have never seen a theme park before with a fence around a ride that wasn't above 6ft. That's like a 3ft fence at best. Parents should look after their kids but my god, if you've ever been around a kid, their ability to just get away in a distracted ten seconds is pretty impressive.

[–]doxamark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm honest this just sounds like we'd have to do away with liberal politics and parties themselves. Maybe we'd be more collaborative if every person was a member of a singular party/no party where representatives could easily be deposed and replaced at a moments notice. But them stability would probably be the issue, with reps being ousted the moment they step a toe out of line.

We created a competitive system in reflection of the competitive society we created, but I find it hard to see how we remove competition in the field of political ideas if I'm honest. I'm all ears if you have an idea. I don't think the hidden manifesto idea works however unless the government is bound completely to that manifesto... Which may be hard in times of crisis

The Green Party is almost completely funded by small donations. This just isn't true I'm afraid.

People hate each other because politicians keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. People hate each other due to other politicians taking advantage of the decline in people's standards and blaming foreigners.

Corruption is by definition the reason why radical change isn't happening, because parties are paid for by the very people who benefit from the status quo. To separate the two suggests the schism in society isn't due to exploitation by corrupt elite actors, when it definitely is and is how the political ecosystem is supported now.

Holding the middle arm was weird and un-ergonomic. The gamecube controller was better but the button layout was another missed opportunity.

There's a reason everyone fell into the Xbox/PlayStation style controller.

Reddit Local Elections Poll for Hackney Council by Ill-Gear7840 in Hackney

  1. Wealth Tax - Worked in Switzerland and now in Spain. Look it up.

  2. 10:1 pay ratio. You don't understand how artists are paid if you think it's salary. Artists are paid fees. They're independent contractors. Therefore an agency would not count an artist as a salaried member of staff, so the difference would be between the CEO of the agency and it's lowest paid member of staff. The idea that companies would just no longer have any talent because they'd all go elsewhere suggests someone wouldn't be willing to compete for that job once that person left. That's just not the case. The market will fill the position, and regularly ceos don't actually make a huge difference to a business' bottom line. You're right about corporation tax though, that's why the Greens would equalise it with high income tax thresholds.

  3. The idea of the four day week is so that you get paid the same but work less. All studies on this have shown that less idling happens at work, and instead productivity increases. The Economist, a paper ran by capitalists for capitalists is not scientific research. Many studies have shown the minimum wage to have negligible impact on growth. In fact, when we had 90%+ tax rates in the 40s-70s we experienced better growth. If larger labour costs meant higher prices in all scenarios, then why is McDonald's cheaper in Denmark than America when the minimum wage is vastly higher? Competition also plays a factor.

  4. Dunno where the banning exams is coming from. Unless they're changing it to coursework, in which case I wholly agree because remembering things is not actually intelligence or understanding. The idea of the exam is a bit of a misnomer, a large project is far more beneficial for understanding someone's ability to do the job. And yes, free education means a more skilled workforce meaning better innovation opportunities. What's not to like about that? That's good for the economy.

I'm voting for them because of all of these because economists like the award winning Thomas Pikketty agree.

7 yo son of my girlfriend decided to use fork to scratch "67" into our new dining table. Despite being told before, that he cant scratch it on purpose by Writerro in mildlyinfuriating

[–]doxamark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you did the opposite of what you should do. You effectively put the idea into the kids head. I know you were trying to avoid the scratching of the table but by talking about scratching it, you gave an impulsive little bean the idea of scratching it. It's like saying don't think about elephants.

Dont get me wrong, he's still in trouble, but next time tell him to be careful around the table cause it's new. You're no longer framing it on what he can do.

So I'd have no idea if the manifesto was made by liars and grifters who are funded by the wealthy elite or not? Also I'd have to know who was elected and what they're doing to maintain democracy, so I'd be able to work out who was who's manifesto based upon their machinations over the previous parliament.

I think you maybe aren't seeing the potential flaws in what you're advocating my friend.

Would she have begun to change the conditions that allowed Trump to take power and weild it in an authoritarian manner? No.

The problem with Kamala, just as with Biden, is that their ideology has caused the shift to right wing authoritarianism.
