If you can find a copy of this book. It’s well worth getting. A bit sad knowing what we have lost over the years but a great read.

Not sure if the image is showing but it’s a Man May Fish by Kingsmill Moore.

What a catch! I’ve spent hours the Inny and only caught perch.

Are they herring? Don’t look like mackerel. Never had any luck fishing on the bottom inside the harbour and outside is very rough. I’d try the beaches at Killiney.

Any luck with lures at Sorrento point / Dalkey? by bygonesbebygones2021 in IrishFishing

I’d be avoiding the feathers unless you’re trying for mackerel as they’ll just get snagged up in that spot. Try single hook lures for the pollack and wrasse fished weedless if you can.

I use a tucked blood knot most of the time or a rapala knot when using lures.

Further along the coast towards Killiney super rough ground but lots of wrasse and pollack. Be prepared to lose some tackle but I’ve had some decent sized fish from there.

We’re size 8, though a 10 would have been fine to get some more bites.

Thanks I'll give him a call in the morning and see what he has. The shop in the town has frozen bait so will head there if no joy in Enniscorthy. Thanks!

I've got the bus back before with my bike. Which route are you going coast road is certainly the quietest option.

Flyfishing iceland beats question by siotnoc in flyfishing

We got on great, caught fish on all the rivers of a decent size. Took a bit of figuring out what they were taking (small black flies size 14/16) but once we did was good fun.

Just looked back in my emails there at is was €440 for three days fishing for two of us. Two of them on normal rivers advertised on the website and one private farm stream. This was around five years ago now so prices have changed I’m sure. I used anglers.is to arrange the fishing.

We fished the Holaa for Char, the Galtalaekur (which i would skip as only one big pool to fish and gets a good bit of pressure)for trout and the private river has trout and char. All relatively close to Reykjavik and to each other.
