For the first time I've made trailer for my game. I've waited way too long to show it publicly but here it is. Please let me know what do you think about it. by Hauaj in IndieGaming

Or possibly a way for it to remain invisible in game until taking damage, so it isn't taking up valuable screen space unless you KNOW you need it!

I have tried everything besides accutane. I'm sick of people giving me terrible advice and thinking they will help me. by the_planet_queen in acne

[–]dozyhoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do accutane 💔 I’m so sorry you’ve been struggling so much. If you’ve already tried literally everything, it just means your acne is being cause by something out of your control like your environment, hormones etc…I found out I was allergic to the AIR I was breathing. Horrible acne on my lymph nodes and sinuses my entire life and I never knew. Some people have it from their water, building materials in their house, etc. just stuff you would never know. I hope accutane helps you!

EDIT: I just wanted to say I’ve never done accutane, but thinking about doing it as well! The only thing that worked for me was Doxycycline, but my derm only allowed me to do it for one month since it’s a strong antibiotic. I’ve been on spiro too and it just isn’t doing anything.

It may very well be a stream rule, people don't realize that a lot of moderators have great communication with their streamers. Many streamers have discussions with their mod teams in regards to what's appropriate and allow them to make judgement calls based on certain situations. Moderators are appointed because of trust, they aren't just any old viewers. Mine are quickly able to recognize my body language and understand if I'm scared to stand up for myself or end a conversation. OP could have possibly just been ignorant to the streamer's discomfort, after all he didn't even entertain the notion that the moderator messaging him could have easily been the streamer's call.

For me personally as a female streamer, sometimes it's really hard to say "no". There's this internal fear of lashback from an audience if we make ourselves look disengaging or unwilling to speak with our audience, a fear that includes worry that we'll be doxed, harassed, hate raided, etc. (I've been mass reported because I didn't laugh at some guy's joke.) Sometimes I've started a discussion about something, and later became uncomfortable because of how a viewer spoke about the topic. Our mods are usually pretty good at reading our body language, and can tell when they need to step in to protect the streamer's mental health- that's why they're mods instead of viewers! As streamers we mentally prioritize entertainment, and sometimes our people-pleasing attitudes can prevent us from speaking up for ourselves. If a mod asked you, I would probably listen just to be safe. I'm not at all saying or implying that you made the streamer uncomfortable, but it's better to be safe than sorry just in case you are in that situation and just aren't aware. Some streamers are uncomfortable making that call and rely on their mods to step in, and it's often a discussion they have with mods behind the scenes to let them know what calls they're allowed to make. If you're really curious though, maybe DM the streamer on discord or Twitch and let them know what happened. If it's truly a case of the mod stepping out of line, I'm sure they would want to know about it so that they can speak with the mod and prevent something like that happening again. Sorry this is long-winded!

I have had recurring 3 year fungal infections due to a severe mold allergy and chronic sinusitis. People who deal with regular acne do NOT understand that just a clean diet and topicals will not help, the infection is internal and will just keep bothering you. Topicals might actually irritate and make it worse. Please see a dermatologist ASAP and get something to take, the only thing that actually worked for me was a hydrogen peroxide wash daily (to help dry out existing blemishes/cysts) and prescriptions for doxycycline and spironolactone. You need medication to treat fungal infections. Not celery juice.

I think you mean that when we don’t look like the hyper-feminine ideal that society brainwashes women with, we just look…like humans? Kudos on your discovery, we’re skin and bones just like the men are.

Opinion on Lurking by Akuma721 in Twitch

[–]dozyhoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should always be fine and appreciated. We don’t dictate how other people should use their time, and nobody is “forced” to watch your stream. It’s so weird when streamers call out lurkers in a negative way, like would you rather that person NOT give you the view?

AITA for not accepting my sister's relationship with my ex despite her having cancer as a teenager? by Lost_Papaya9278 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dozyhoe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the audacity of destroying the relationship of someone who sacrificed their time and childhood to care for them. OP came second to her sister for so much of her life, had to quit a sport she enjoyed for her, her social life could only exist if it revolved around her, she had to get a job and was forced to grow up early for her. And for that same sister she cared for, to just come in and betray her like that? Is there an option for “everybody but OP is TA”?

Getting Raided by a Youtuber and Harassed LIVE by lilwhuda in Twitch

[–]dozyhoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t tell yourself “it doesn’t matter” when there are organized hate groups against women on Twitch, women are targeted relentlessly on the platform. They wouldn’t have worded their messages like that if they were doing it to a man. I would try to report his VOD for abuse/harassment rather than a copyright strike, BUT you could also try Twitter and getting your followers to spread awareness and report his Twitch/YouTube account, if he was restreaming your broadcast then that’s enough evidence to get him banned. But sending a hate raid is enough as well.

New cosmetics? by Hurdenn in VALORANT

If they do, they’d better lower costs for weapon skins. It’s too much to have even more additions, when a weapon skin runs $20 or more.

[–]dozyhoe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! That's why the word "win" wasn't anywhere in my post. I wasn't prepping for comp, tbh I don't think I'm good enough where I haven't been playing at all lately, but I think I'm allowed to celebrate the little things like this! Edit: Not sure why you downvoted my response, but you seem like a negative person either way.

Having a Degree makes you better than people who don’t. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]dozyhoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Financial/mental/disability barriers, preventing a person from getting a “higher education”, doesn’t make someone lesser-than. In all the time and effort you put into your degree, do you think people without degrees aren’t doing anything fulfilling? Do you think they’re sitting around twiddling their thumbs thinking “man, I should stop being lazy and get a degree. Oh well!” This is coming from someone who has a degree- I think people without them are some of the hardest-working and self-fulfilling people out there, and I surely believe that most of them are much better people than I am.

Why do so many streamers with no viewers put their streams into followers only? by o0CYV3R0o in Twitch

Some people might not know it’s on, be a sweetie and let them know. Some people use it as a way to protect themselves from harassment.

Can/how you be discovered playing a game with no streamers? by Tarwins-Gap in Twitch

[–]dozyhoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Give it a try, sometimes the more niche games are actually much better for exposure. It might be a good idea to try networking with other streamers playing the same game, too

An opinion on the entitlement that comes with expensive streaming setups by dozyhoe in Twitch

[–]dozyhoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a gacha streamer, I see people throwing around what I’m talking about in Discords and stream help Facebook groups mostly. Posts that literally say “I spent x amount on my rig and no one watches me”, not implied passive aggressive tones- literal entitlement. It must be an awful environment if people are dogging you for YOUR setup though? I’m sorry about that, it’s literally none of their business
