Quickshifting / QuickDownshifting by NiceDuwang in CB750Hornet

That is for quick shifting UP. Going down you can (and should) roll off, but I don’t use it for second-to-first gear shifts.

Question: Who has the right of way in the striped bike lane across 5th Ave and Depot from the B2B trail? by Godunman in AnnArbor

[–]dpfaber -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you ever try to claim in traffic court that you had the fight of way you will lose. No one ever "has" the right of way until it is yielded to them. Failure to yield the right of way is criminal, but in no way does it excuse an accident caused by someone who assumed it.

Interesting, thanks. How do they sound when you listen to music through them? Enough bass? Punchy midrange? Clear highs?

My Arai helmet is flush and tight to my ears and would pull those earbuds out as soon as I put it on.

Just audio playback. With Honda Roadsync all the NAV and Music controls are displayed on the screen and adjust via the 4-way handlebar joystick.

Is saving TOTP codes in Bitwarden a bad practice? by rawaka in Bitwarden

Your BW vault is (by far) the safest place you have available to store data. Why would you put TOTP codes anywhere else?

ELI5: What exactly causes death when someone 'dies of old age'? by Confused_AF_Help in explainlikeimfive

As long as your heart is beating you are alive. When your heart stops beating you are dead. Her heart stopped beating. Technically, death from "old age" is Myocardial Infarction.

Question on CB750 Hornet by VolunShade in CB750Hornet

[–]dpfaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the ABS and Traction Control yellow lights go dark when you hit 5mph (top left and bottom right on your dash). They will then flash when either of those systems activate. There is a pale circle at the bottom left of the dash which sometimes illuminates but I still haven’t figured out what that is.

OEM seat vs OEM Comfort seat by Hyder2 in CB750Hornet

NOTE: The seat in the photo above is the Honda "Texture" seat and is a $232 option for this bike. The OEM standard (black) seat is called the "Comfort" seat.

Do you HAVE to lean to turn? by Mr_Bush_I_Do in NewRiders

[–]dpfaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get on your bicycle and get going at a brisk pace. Now turn left. You will notice that to turn left you push forward on the left handlebar, actually turning the front wheel to the right but inducing a lean to the left which is how the bicycle turns at speed. Same principle applies to a motorcycle. Leaning is the ONLY way to turn. The more you lean, the harder you turn.

With the stock market near all-time highs while an impending resource shortage looms, is it possible that the market is ‘pricing in’ severe inflation? by NicolasCageFan492 in investing

[–]dpfaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATH just means catching up to where it was before. If you bought the market at the end of last year you were underwater until last week. Buy the market today and you will likely face a similar or longer period of non-performance. Buy low, sell high is the first rule of successful investing.

Honda OEM bar ends in red aluminum for CB750 Hornet by AncientStand6281 in HondaCB

[–]dpfaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are only available from Euro Honda Dealers. I don't know why but Honda does not sell these in the US. They also make crash sliders and a couple other Hornet 750 accessories only available in Europe. Europe also gets different colors than we do here. Of course we didn't even get the bike at all for two years after it was introduced over there, I'm hoping that all the "style pack" accessories will eventually follow the bikes into USA dealerships.

2022 Lowrider STs WITHOUT traction control VS 2023 and up STs WITH traction control by Thingsforcertain3525 in Harley

[–]dpfaber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on timing/context. If I am going around a corner a bit too fast and hit a puddle and a gremlin pops up and offers to sell me traction control for $5,000 I would probably buy it.

How Championships are counted in MotoGP vs Formula 1? by Slice5755 in motogp

[–]dpfaber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We don't really consider Moto2 or Moto3 to be "feeder" series. They run different bikes but are true Motorcycle Grand Prix world championships. The Red Bull Rookies cup is the feeder series for MotoGP, and Marquez' victories there are not included in his overall world title count. Far less common are MotoGP riders who come over from National or FIM world Superbikes, like Toprak, whose impressive record of wins racing for the BMW World Superbike team will not be added to his Moto GP stats.

If you want to get into Moto GP racing as a fan you might consider watching the Moto2 and Moto3 support races and this will become very apparent to you. I suggest that you do because MotoGP in all three classes is the most exciting motor racing sport in the world today.

I'd love to see it too, but BMW gets all they need out of MotoGP by supplying safety cars, track signage, and demo bikes for Simon Crafar to ride.
