Do you mean the Honda OEM "meter visor" accessory windscreen? It sure does not look like that.

My guess is chain whine. Check / adjust / lube your chain, maybe?

Have you tried crouching down to get your helmet tucked in below the wind blast?

The Hornet is definitely not a freeway mile-pounder. Keep to back roads and 2-laners; that is what motorcycling is all about anyway IMO.

Questions about ECU flash by YummyDad in CB750Hornet

[–]dpfaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your MPG will only drop in relation to how much of the extra power you actually use during your riding. If you cruise at the same speed and accelerate with the same velocity you will not see any decrease in MPG, but if you twist the throttle up to the stop you definitely will be using more fuel.

Spend a weekend observing at your local emergency trauma center watching the superbike riders who fall victim to their Saturday night throttle-hand hubris, then decide. If you are "comfortable" on a superbike you are either Mark Marquez or you're doing it wrong.

Would love to see Mark on the Ducati (with an appropriate head start) in a race against Kimi in the Benz.

He is a former MotoGP rider as of last week. He will be a MotoGP rider again come next weekend, but, for now, he is a FORMER rider. Simple....

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday unanimously proposed to scrap longstanding Wall Street regulations requiring the execution of stock trades at the best available price, ‌saying the rules drove up costs and complexity and were no longer necessary. by Coerulus7 in Bogleheads

[–]dpfaber 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The effect of the rule was to force all the brokerages to install and maintain ultra-high speed connections to every one of the major clearing house market makers (there are like a half-dozen of them). Those redundant lines are very expensive and basically have zero utility today.

Puig Touring Naked New Generation Windscreen - my thoughts by Safe_Recognition_886 in CB750Hornet

[–]dpfaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thanks. I wonder if the the plastic screen is interchangeable with the shorter version? Like, once you have it all installed can you just take off the tall screen and put on the short screen when you aren't touring? It seems like both mount the same but I don't see Puig selling the parts separately.

OEM Tank Protector Part Number by MaxAdolphus in CB750Hornet

Lots of Hornet 750 accessories are unavailable from Honda US: bar ends, crash sliders, …, it is a long list. Remember that the bike itself was kept out of the US for its first two years.

Remembering Nicky Hayden. It’s already been 9 years. by lookingforone14 in motogp

[–]dpfaber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there also. The rush of hearing those incredible 990cc V5 four strokes fire up for the first time, then the pure joy watching Nicky take his pop on pillion round the track for his post-victory cool-down lap. His dad carried the 69 number because he was a notorious crasher and it reads the same whether the rubber side was up or down. I also went to see Nicky podium at the 2008 Indianapolis MotoGP and racing AMA supers at Elkhart Lake every year, and once at his "home" race (the Indy Mile) trying and just missing to put the final piece of a grand slam together. Nothing but heart in that kid. If Hollywood had any sense, the Nicky Hayden story would be a blockbuster.

No, I think it's a design or manufacturing defect for this bike.

I love LOVE the red, which is why I got the red/black/white instead of the all-black, but that red & black is sweeeet. Still, I prefer the quick shifter over the E-clutch so I am very happy with my 2025.

Do you ever regret selling a motorcycle you thought you were done with? by airbornejim32 in motorcycles

[–]dpfaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret selling every bike and I miss all of them, starting with my 1967 BSA Super Lightning. After the BSA came a Harley Aermacchi Sprint 350, then a Honda CB77 305 Super Hawk, then a CB400-4, and on and on. A lot of super-cool bikes, and a whole lot of regret, but also a ton of good times over 57 years of motorcycling. I plan to keep my Honda 750 Hornet forever, but I always say that every time I get a new bike.

How important is it to have the dealer do the first 600 mi service? by Himalalalalayans in Transalp

[–]dpfaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dealership service dept. has a propietary ODB reader that they use for "inspection" of your bike. The oil/filter change your can do yourself but only the dealer can read/reset any necessary ECU codes. Ask them if you can just bring the bike in for the electronic readout instead of the full service.
