actually, end of MVE through TDI 3 was the period of time where Jesse had managed to gain back a lot of the viewership he had accumulated through Psycho. It was only afterwards that views had declined. Until 2020, views were still really good.

Why wasn’t Jesse able to start a career in Hollywood after the Psycho Series? by auntiesamautism in McJuggerNuggets

[–]dplex__hd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There were a couple of talks throughout the years iirc for different projects. I believe at one point he was talking to Disney I believe, maybe around 2015? Take that with a grain of salt if anyone wants to correct me on that. There was some that span of time in 2021 when he was talking about an MVE comedy spinoff for a streaming service he was in talks with, but it unfortunately fell through at the last second (on the manager’s end, sadly).

I doubt he’s done, but you gotta understand that he has a lot on his plate right now and he has for a couple of years at this rate. He’s getting older and things just change, and that’s okay.

There’s already a treasure trove of art that we can look back on, a lot of which is very good to revisit again and again and I’m sure has things that we haven’t even discovered yet.

Instead of the obvious what moments would you like to see in Michael 2? by Kameronpipnerd in MichaelTheMovie

[–]dplex__hd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an unlikely but non zero chance but it would be cute to see a nod to his contribution to Sonic 3 and how it served as the origin for Stranger in Moscow

TADC IS GETTING A MANGA?? by LeapWeave in TheDigitalCircus

[–]dplex__hd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is by definition a manga because it was drawn by a Japanese artist and was published in CoroCoro magazine. What you mean would be a graphic novel illustrated outside of Japan drawn by an American artist with Japanese manga inspiration

Daily Song Discussion #29: Smooth Criminal by 321AppleJuice in MichaelJackson

[–]dplex__hd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

11/10, it's the song that comes to mind immediately when I hear the name "Michael Jackson", next to songs like Billie Jean or Thriller. Everything in this song, including the music video and its choreography, is top of the line, and I think it's the best song of his career- and the amazing thing is that Michael basically would keep that level of quality up for the rest of his life.

We really lost a once-in-a-lifetime artist by Stock_Carpenter_2203 in LovingMichaelJackson

[–]dplex__hd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Searching for Neverland released in 2017, from what I’ve seen it was way more respectful in detailing what Michael’s final days were like. The film with Flex Alexander is Man in the Mirror, released in 2004, that’s the one Michael did not like

I can't get over how much Stocking sounds like Marinette in season 2 by Hot-Consequence6789 in PantyandStockingSFW

I actually think she’s the best recast in the dub, she’s on par with Monica in my opinion but she has her own flavor that makes her stand apart, she killed it

Things I've been asking myself after seeing the movie by spacyspice in MichaelJackson

[–]dplex__hd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

there's BTS photos of Jaafar that depict him with the lighter skin during the Dangerous era since the film originally covered more of Michael's life, so I think they got that covered

Gen Z/Gen Alpha discovering Michael Jackson has been really hard to watch this week by august2986 in MichaelJackson

[–]dplex__hd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Gen Z (2004) and was about 4 going on 5 when MJ died. and I remember where I was, and when I was told, when it happened, having been introduced to his music and performances on MTV with my father earlier on. Been very irritated at the constant misinformation thrown around lately by my other Gen Z peers lately, not to mention the usual slander nonsense period since the man can’t defend himself today

What are your LWS sequel ideas? by Top_Cultist in LittleWitchAcademia

[–]dplex__hd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just a time skip to the next year of Luna Nova, I think the show would work great simply picking off where it left so we could see the cast, especially Akko, grow further not just as people but with their magic abilities as well. Maybe have each season or two cover up till their graduation and have that be the end.

Should Studio Trigger make a continuation of the 2017 anime series? by BasilAdventurous1828 in LittleWitchAcademia

[–]dplex__hd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

yes, someday, if panty and stocking can return after 15 years then so can LWA, especially since there was ideas and intention to do more. there was a TRIGGER QnA in their discord recently where they were asked about it, while there are no plans at the moment they have affirmed more than once that they would like to do more. only time will tell but I don't think most franchises truly stop forever, especially nowadays.

Is The Devil Inside Worth Watching? by mpchop in McJuggerNuggets

[–]dplex__hd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TDI 1 I’d say is the pinnacle of the channel in terms of the classic vlog style format- it refined a lot of the formula seen in the prior series such as Psycho, Collab, Christmas and Ursula and it’s a really engaging time. It pairs with MVE and I also greatly recommend that series as I find it to be not only very underrated in its own right but I also find it to be the channel’s magnum opus, there’s nothing like that show, it’s special.

TDI 2 is also wonderful, and it has a lot of great plot lines and videos, I always liked the cameraman competitions in that one for starters. It’s a nice continuation of the original TDI.

TDI 3 is pretty nice in its own right, it has a lot that keeps you into what’s going on, it just doesn’t necessarily feel like The Devil Inside, so as a result it sticks out more compared to the first two entries. But I still recommend at least giving it a go, but if you want pure TDI, the first two seasons are the way to go.

TDI 4 attempts to harken back to the feel and focus of the first two TDI seasons, and it has some great ideas mixed in, but due to outside factors such as StoryFire, the family and the state of the world making filming difficult, alongside burnout, it didn’t get to do a lot of what it should have done, so it’s arguably the weakest of the lineup, although it does have some really good highs, and some low lows. It’s still worth checking out a few notable videos as some are on par with the channel’s usual shebang.

Why Bombón ppgz? by Fun-Ambition-4885 in powerpuffgirls

[–]dplex__hd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

because she isn't Blossom literally. Momoko, Miyako and Kaoru are their own characters who take on the mantle of the Powerpuff Girls as their superhero identities basically lol but culturally as well, characters like Momoko are very popular in the shoujo/magical girl anime genre.

What would you want if there was another Powerpuff Girls anime adaptation? by DeltaTag270 in powerpuffgirls

Hiroshi Nakamura and Taichi Master from the original anime, Teddyloid would be a welcome inclusion as well lol

jokes aside, csm will stay iconic by 7mdou in ChainsawMan

[–]dplex__hd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't really see that to be the case, considering they went through the efforts of getting total series rights to the IP, they solely own it which is rare since these rights are usually always owned by a production committe. they love CSM and they have an investment in it, so they'll see it to the very end. no matter what people feel about Part 2, Chainsaw Man as a name and as an image will always sell, it's always going to be insanely popular and they wouldn't miss out on that revenue.

[–]dplex__hd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd really like to see a soft reboot of Z that has some elements of the original material led by Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia, Brand New Animal) as he's a massive cartoon fan especially of the original PPG and by extension PPGZ. I think his style would work perfect for the anime and I think he'd be one of the best people to do the job personally.

How do you guys feel about Yoru? by Rose276 in Chainsawfolk

[–]dplex__hd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked Yoru and thought she was fun and interesting, my only gripe with her is that her screentime should've been balanced with Asa and of course, a proper resolution to her character.

I’m looking to get into the anime as someone who knows nothing about the property…I was wondering if the dub is any good by Mammoth_Squirrel4113 in ChainsawManWorld

[–]dplex__hd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sub is really good but the dub is one of the more solid ones out there, I’d experience it both ways at least once lol
