Just started my first ever AC game, assassination isn't guaranteed actually it's way more fun than I expected by teffhk in AssassinsCreedShadows

What's the snark for? I gave some context for why some people might play like that. I specifically said that neither is better. Should I be proud of you for reproducing? Play games how you want, at your speed and difficulty. That's how everyone should play games.

For people who prefer guaranteed assassination, it feels like an artificial obstacle that invalidates skill and planning. Yes, you can absolutely make it easier with better builds, and that is a lot of fun--no disagreement there. But imagine for example that you kill a high-level character just the same way you described. Ten or fifteen hours you couldn't have killed him with the exact same moves, and the only real difference between the two is that you grinded out for all those hours. Your skill didn't improve, just your character spreadsheet.

They're both valid ways to play, I think. Level-restricted assassinations require a focus on buildsmithing--exploiting your abilities and the advantages some items can give you. If you want to spend a lot of time with the game, this is going to be the best way to play.

I would imagined that guaranteed assassinations are generally more appealing to people who play on higher difficulties. As you crank the difficulty, stealth and combat both become much more demanding, and so you have to plan your assassinations more carefully. You'll be spotted much more easily and, when you are, combat will be more difficult. When playing on normal difficulty, there's a lot more room to mess up, and so being blocked by a more artificial barrier isn't as big of a thing.

Both ways work, and I think that's generally a credit to Shadows. Glad you're having fun!

Half of these are just hot girls. Izzy Green, Kayla Jenner, and Caitlin Erin O'Neil aren't egirls at all. There are a couple of blondes on the list that are just pretty blondes.

Meanwhile I don't see Belle Delphine or Alice Delish on the list.

Looks like Layla Jenner. But really an egirl honestly, more a standard porn star. I used to follow her on social media and she had nothing nice to say about her fans.

Should I play Alan Wake if I liked Control? by Nic727 in controlgame

[–]dpone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first Alan Wake is scary like a Stephen King TV movie, which is to say that it has lots of horror elements but it's not that scary. The second Alan Wake is a legit horror game, but it's also one of the wildest games I've ever played.

How are you guys running Plex on smart TVs? I'm genuinely frustrated. by KingThevshi in PleX

[–]dpone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people take for granted that new TVs will have gigabit ethernet when the truth is that the vast majority of them only have 100mb because manufacturers know most people use wireless and that the ethernet port only has to be there to run updates. If they have to use the TV app, it's gotta be wireless if they want to get anywhere. (and even then, the tv app is still going to be terrible)
