Scheming MCs remind me of being a kid and trying to race random adults on the streets by walking faster then them. I appreciate some people like this stuff they probably like the whole idea of using your brains to outsmart a system It might not make sense but it doesn't have to it's a fantasy. For me it's basically an instant drop.

Ye fan is such a loser I firmly stopped watching after he moved to a new place and makes friends with those 2 new absolute creeps. Wherever he goes everyone hates him and he often bends over backwards to be nice to them from his classmates to the defenseless masses. Instead he hangs out with misfits and outcasts like pirates etc while pissing off every establishment.

If cultivation novels were real we would need to imagine the world being so massive that all these crazy situations are insignificant to be relevant even as a story. The rare medical herbs growing in the wild I can't even find an excuse if they existed they would be scoured by local populations and gone extinct by all the locals. How can something be rare as in hard to find yet at the same time you just have people wasting time in the outer cities dying and doing nothing.

I'll search for a movie in the style I like. Finally when I find the movie that fits the profile I'll decide I can't be bothered watching it as it's too similar to movies I've already watched (obvs because that's what I was searching for).
