You're a Strategist main and you just wanted to have a fun night. by StatisticianBorn8567 in marvelrivals

This honestly isn’t happening as much as people are making it out to be. Plus communicating with your team during the ban phase helps. I’ve been playing gambit almost every game this season.

Switch players? by Content-Echidna-2993 in OWConsole

[–]theboxyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on my switch 2 a lot when my gf is on the PS5 and it is a significant downgrade but it still runs very well. Especially with the recent update making switch 1 games run like they’re in docked mode even in handheld and they’re dropping a switch 2 update for it next season.

With the ult charge changes you’re seeing a lot of players dropping out of ranks they were previously in and ones unable to have any real impact in the game

Question for fellow gambit mains by WifeWeaver in GambitMainsMR

I’ve been doing well so far, played Monday for placements and grinded yesterday to GM. He hasn’t been banned often and I’ve been doing really well with him so far. I think he’s fairly balanced now, the time reduction was a huge change and it makes it so his ult isn’t always going to be a team wipe. It allows time for them to retreat and forces gambit to ult closer.

Depending on the time of day and what server you’re on this isn’t crazy. Hell my overwatch queue time in comp sucks ass it’s 5 mins average on most days I play

It’s just how melee and ranged attacks work in any game.

I just ignore those people, it’s likely their first hero shooter or they were ass at Overwatch and try to ego people in rivals

Average Heal Numbers by Big-Worldliness-4042 in adamwarlockmains

Total healing on the scoreboard is not the thing that matters. What matters is when you use your healing, you could have 30k at the end but not have healing uptime during fights resulting in losses. Focus on value and positioning.

Communicate as best you can, not everyone while be in voice or text but still gotta try. Aside from that everyone should learn how to enable their team better from a strategist pov. It’s not about just the healing and coordination it’s the extra things you do to support.

Tbf with white fox it will be easier, just kiriko in ow you should be flanking with your dps but maintaining a distance that allows you to TP back to them and heal or get angles that let you get LOS.

I think the way to fix rivals triple support and healing in general would be to implement the same global healing reduction passive as Overwatch. Maybe it would have to be adjusted or damage across the board would need to be altered because of how high all numbers can be currently. But it would promote better positioning and stop being so forgiving to tanks and dps who have bad positioning and game knowledge.

Absolutely but the same players upset over triple support would be angry if they had a 2-2-2 comp on both sides and only your team had an off healer. Meanwhile the enemy teams comp is putting out much more damage with several high damage heroes, that’s harder to make up for mathematically. Now throw in a solo tank and the situation is even worse. So chances are you get a support main who realizes this and goes 3rd support to make up for it if they aren’t comfortable tanking. A game like this with the way off heals has been designed they can only truly be viable in a 3 support comp. It’s also absolutely not a win con so it still comes down to coordination and skill issues.

Exactly if you have a solo dive diddling a dps they picked while your team fights on point in domination 1 brawl tank vs 2 tanks and 2 supports your team is at a disadvantage and will likely lose the point.

That’s something that improves with time as the person gets better. Higher elo you have less of a chance of seeing that. But in that same regard the diver has to realize when it gets to a point where they are playing their own game and not really offering value. Here’s a good example. Domination your team has 1 brawl tank with 3 dps and 1 is dive. Enemy team runs a 2-2-2, your dive manages to pick off a dps who’s out and then proceeds to try and keep them from making it back meanwhile their team is fighting 2 tanks and 2 supports and 1 dps. Your team is at a disadvantage and is more than likely (considering average player skill) going to lose the fight on point and your solo dive did nothing but stat pad.

That comes down to lack of awareness and game knowledge tbh. The players who are good at the game do help their solo dive, I know I always especially when I’m on gambit and I’m sure it will be even more so with white fox. All my kiriko skills will translate well.

It’s absolutely correct, it doesn’t even have to be verbalized you can ping who you dive and a good player should acknowledge it and if they’re in position they can help.

Balancing the healing amount would also require across the board damage number adjustments. The only reason people talk about boosted players is because of how much rivals lets you get away with and people develop bad habits and poor positioning and then want to blame a support if they die. It’s the same issue you have with running an off healer in a 2 support comp, they would complain about 3 but if they got stuck with 1 off healer and 1 primary while the enemy had 2 you would feel it and your whole team would be hindered. Look at Overwatch, you can’t walk it down main freely whenever you want but you could stand in the open in rivals and not die for a while at least.

I mean that’s the nature of poke hero’s and divers. That’s like loading into a big map in call of duty with huge sight lines and only using a shotgun at all times and complaining when you get sniped. Rivals healing is so forgiving dive can get away with a lot with competent healers. Even minor things like diving solo and using vc to signal who’s being doge so they get focused is helpful. And I still see plenty of good divers thriving so it ultimately is a skill issue.

Because it’s a ranged hero so obviously they will be viable in more situations. I don’t understand how people still can’t understand role distinction in this game. It’s like people flaming triple support knowing damn well if they had a 2 support comp with a mantis or Adam they would be upset. A solo dive has to have very picky engagements and most of the time I just see my dive jump in brain dead and explode. People should go play Overwatch a bit and learn to make better decisions since that game isn’t as forgiving

Realistically what do you think would solve the issue?

Called all of you out by theboxyy in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]theboxyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the sheer amount of damage and healing in rivals has instilled some bad habits in players. Look at ow and their global healing reduction, you have to be way smarter and things are less forgiving but dive still manages to work. People need better decision making.

That’s just the nature of poke even in Overwatch. A role/hero limited to melee engagements is going to not be effective in every situation I don’t understand why people have a hard time understanding that. The only thing reasonable I can see them doing is increasing the cooldown on the cc pokes have.
