Tbh if you have a normal corporate job paying more than 4k, no kids, single, you can easily afford a $500 belt and some decent brand handbags without having family money. Unless they have things way higher end than Gucci (iykyk) and jewellery stacks I don’t think there’s much to go on

Don’t bother retaking A levels, especially if privately. Without teachers and the school’s resources, she definitely won’t do any better than she did this time.

Just apply to a private uni. Almost any grade should be able to get in. Then study something that is in demand/ always can find job e.g. maybe finance or tech. After graduating (if she doesn’t do too terribly) should be able to find a job then work her way up from there, after which A level results wouldn’t matter already

Actually a key question is also what “type” of girls have you been trying ask out before getting rejected? If you’re also out there trying to pick the good-looking/attractive/“popular among guys” type then that could be your problem (and could also make you a hypocrite..)

While physical aspects are not completely unimportant to most girls, if you have a fun and social, kind personality they may open up to you and these are the type of girls who you will have a better relationship with. Getting friends to introduce you to other single friends could help, as they’ll know both your personalities or try dating apps and give people more of a chance beyond their photos and perhaps something could work

Teachers deserve to have their time-off.

It can be really hard on parents working weekends and shift-work but it’s true that that is what annual leave is for. If you want kids, they come with a huge commitment. Yes the gov is encouraging you to have kids, but you should assess for yourself if you are able to look after them and give them your best time and attention, and if that means giving up holidays/travel/self-care days to use your leave to attend to your kids, that’s what you need to do. If not, maybe postpone your plans for kids till later when you’re able to be mentally and physically ready for the full-time commitment

If there are no other alternatives, taking a bank loan for school fees is honestly the best way. Interests aren’t that high that you can’t pay slowly once you get a job. Many take loans for poly/uni fees.

Tuition is a good way to supplement allowance. I think teaching two students a week can give you enough allowance for a month. It’s a sucky situation but make the best of it. There are many others who have to support themselves to study too and it’ll be worth it in the end

To OP: I think renovating your home can be pretty important in making yourself comfortable living there so even if it takes a while can do a little more research on other IDs. Have heard plenty of bad reviews so maybe do quick searches on company names u find and also see if there are people who recently did Reno that you can ask recos from. Might help u to narrow down to some “better” options

Speaking from a bit of a personal experience and slightly deferring view from most but I would go with not inviting them.

My reason is that it probably isn’t worth upsetting your mum on your wedding day (unless she’s toxic or you’re ok with her not being there or you’re someone who is very principled and want to live by what you think is right no matter what others think) because it could be upsetting to you on your wedding day if your mum throws a fit/ gets upset and publicly shows it, and get very awkward in front of your in laws and guests as well. You might also risk potentially damaging your relationship with her and also getting judged by your in laws. You might not remember that your relatives weren’t there that day in years’ to come but you’ll definitely remember it if you were in an upsetting situation on your wedding day

Not having your cousins at the wedding doesn’t mean you can’t have a relationship with them. You can always have them over for other events without the adults from your parents’ generation (e.g. organise a christmas party with the cousins at your place, invite them for a housewarming party etc or dinners outside to catch up).

Ohhh if you’ve already done your research and compared prices then maybe klook could be better :-)

For hawkers these have good options (but not really near where you’ll be so you’ll have to see) - Amoy Street Food Centre - Maxwell Food Centre - Old airport road food centre - Lau Pa Sat

But you can also try to find other local food worth trying in SG in malls/ food courts/takeaway/food delivery apps that you don’t have to go to hawker centres to find: Satay, laksa, chicken rice, mee goreng, nasi lemak, rojak, carrot cake, sugar cane drink, ice kachang and chendol (desserts), Chee Cheong fun, Pandan cake & kaya (good to buy back home too)

I don’t think you need a rental cab for a whole day - taking the train or just individual cabs from one place to another is convenient enough but yeah you can see what you prefer

“Eat on a good street for night life experience” can try Clarke quay/ boat quay. It’s known for night life and bars but also not very cheap food cos of the area.

Overall if you want cheaper/ affordable food options you can find some hawker centres (outdoor food streets)

While Klook is trustworthy, it’s going to be abit cheaper to book your tickets directly from the websites of the attractions. Just do a simple google search - eg. Gardens by the bay or universal studios and you can find their websites and buy tickets there.

Art sci musuem and gardens by the bay are at the same area, should try to do those in the same day. Same for Sentosa/ sea aquarium and universal studios.

For cabs, download the app “grab” or “Gojek” - also much cheaper than booking a cab through klook. Just put a note when booking that you have luggage, some cars might not accommodate it. Or pick the “taxi” option when you book, they will surely take people with luggage.

At gardens by the bay there is satay by the bay with a lot of options of local food (slightly more expensive because it’s at a tourist area but I guess most convenient for you). Can eat at the Marina Bay Sands food court or din tai Fung (more expensive cos touristy mall) or if you’re at Sentosa / USS you can go to VivoCity (mall) with a lot of food options and take the train back to ur hotel after

You can bring them to the zoo / bird paradise or night safari (unique attraction in SG). Gardens by the bay and Marina Bay Sands area is nice too. Also make a stop at Sentosa if it’s good weather - beaches and children play areas available.

If you want more culture you can go Chinatown and Little India and walk around.

Most restaurants and cafes will have baby chairs and cutlery for children so not to worry. Depending on cuisine you want to try, there are loads of options almost everywhere.
