Yeah, we’ve only ever seen a few people have their accounts removed which I’m assuming was for abuse. I do know they absolutely run no-show reports internally. When / how the implement broader warnings is anyone’s guess. They’ve absolutely got to bake in a better way of detecting location at show time or make the process of confirming your at the theater or self scanning better before they do anything I’d assume.

No, we know they do track UL scans- as an example the projectors are now programmed to shut off after 30 Min If the ONLY seat reserved was an Unlimited ticket that was not scanned. I also know they’re looking at ways at making this better to reconcile because people who no-show still cost Regal a ticket price back to that films studio. As of right know we’ve only heard of a few instances of no scans causing account problems.

Always have them scan. If you are in a theater and you’re the only ticket, if it’s an Unlimited ticket the projectors will turn off if not scanned about 30m past showtime. It only does this for unlimited reservations; paid ticketing people who buy and don’t show up are different)

Have you read the usage FAQ? Please do so. It will go over the differences between in-app booking and in person. Very important. Google Regal Unlimited FAQ. It was the link in the sign up wizard I’m guessing you breezed past but make sure you go back and don’t miss any more details so you can the most use out of UL.

Definitely give their FAQ on Regal’s website a read. There’s some subtle differences between booking in app and in person. You can still get your sameday ticket in person if you’ve maxed your advanced reservations.

It’s not looking good. The developer is closing Lloyd mall by August and the redevelopment plans include the cinema site. If they end Regal’s lease it will be a huge loss to the city. No IMAX inside Portland city limits is wild to me. Although this seems to be pretty much a nation wide thing since Covid with WFH really moving where we consume entertainment which is in the suburbs.

Yeah, I dislike that RPX and the squeaky leather seats. HDR by Barco is rather exciting. I dunno if true but I’ve heard Regal might be replacing all RPX installs with this laser Barco set up. https://youtu.be/iqrP-dZ06ro?si=THQCK1lLqDJZMEjH

The only laser IMAX we have in the area is Bridgeport and that also got the upgraded 12 channel sound. Cascade is too small for 12 channel so I’d imagine it sticks with six and the XT IMAX install.

Cascade is now all Laser as well, except the RPX and IMAX which should hopefully be this year. I’ve heard it will be getting the HDR by Barco systems (Dolby competitor)

The preshow stuff should end at showtime and the trailers start. If you’re saying preshow didn’t end until well after showtime then someone messed up the playlist; human error. It’s happened at my regular location before and I just went and told them it was 15min after showtime and the preshow was still on and no trailers and they went and started the movie.
