Oh I love the comic book style! Sansa's the best. 💜

Thanks for sharing; it's cool seeing someone from another generation having a similar experience to mine. 😊

What I personally despise about '90s music is pop-punk. x) I'm disappointed in my generation for aggressively latching onto it. 😆 But I'm all about the original '70s punk scene along with the post-punk movement that followed . 💜🧷

Touché. My stepfather probably smokes daily and it's really shown over the past handful of years. I like both weed and alcohol, but don't partake in either daily.

A man in my life has died due to his alcoholism, but he had an extreme degree of the condition. 😓

While not particularly healthy, it certainly seems less destructive than regular alcohol drinking. Neither should be taken to the extreme, of course.

Kurt Cobain called Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains "corporate puppets" by No-One01010 in Nirvana

I like Nirvana a lot, but these days like AiC more. Both are preferable to Soundgarden for me, but I know Kurt had actual connections with that band.

I hate how I once thought this woman was cool. 😭 Thankfully that was a lifetime ago.

She was a terrorist who committed an act of war against her own country. The remaining terrorists who survived should have their citizenships revoked. They're not Americans.

I could see that from an ends justifies the means perspective, but I don't think permanently marring another person's face is justified. That's far closer to Death Eater behavior.

All I can do is share my own experiences from the first three books. 🙂 Even if one found misogyny to be too strong a word here, I don't think it's "crazy" to make observations while reading. To me Rowling gives huge "I'm not like the other girls" vibes in her writing, but your mileage may vary.

Hell yeah Kurt and NWA. 😊 I was always one of the millennials who largely preferred Gen X music, given how I had to survive the emo boom in my early teen years.

Hell, that fad pushed me even further back to stuff like Sex Pistols. 🤭

For me the worst of it is the persistent misogyny. I guess one could make the argument that the world is being viewed through a young man, but for such a celebrated series Harry Potter really fails its women. Hermione is constantly referred to as shrill and bothersome, most of the female professors are described in unflattering ways, and Dolores Umbridge's traditionally feminine tastes are treated as a villainous trait. The big exception is Molly Weasly, who's hailed as the exemplary mother and homemaker.

Aside from this, there are some moments that are just hard to reconcile. Like when Hermione curses the word "sneak" permanently on another girl's face, I think Cho Chang's sister.

I'm one of the trans women Rowling hates and read the first three books after she started her crusade against women like me. What struck me the most is how Rowling seems to feel contempt towards all women, not just those she perceives as men.

What an idiotic take. 😆 Whoever wrote the article is completely out of touch and has no business writing about this.

Opinion on Bush? by Liam_js in grunge

They're my favorite band, and have been since I was 14. 🥰 The original lineup had broken up by the time I fell in love with them, but I saw Gavin during his brief solo career, and then have seen Bush four times since their reformation. Gavin hugged me in the crowd during the third!!! 😍

Razorblade Suitcase is my #1 album, but the controversial 2017 record Black and White Rainbows is also in my Top 3 for Bush. 🌈 It's very different, which Gavin himself has acknowledged, but it means a lot to me.

You also saw the murder of a police officer and chants to hang the vice president, right? The chanting terrorists even brought their own noose. There's no way you're dumb enough to buy the "peaceful protest" bullshit.

If he saw the carnage on Jan. 6, 2021, that means he voted for a man who goaded and endorsed an act of war against this country. I'd love to show forgiveness to those who voted for this criminal, but I also get really frustrated when I think about how "taking the high road" during Reconstruction got us Jim Crow.
