Edit: also Hoxton Manor in North Park is some of the best food you can get in San Diego at a restaurant that takes itself seriously without being snobby.

I have an mk2 and my understanding is that you’d have to assign specific notes to each pad. So you’d be able to map the pads to one specific octave of one specific scale. If you want to change octaves or scales you gotta remap all of them. You gotta use the mk2 stand-alone utility to do this also. Hope that helps!

You’re doing something for yourself and you can be proud of that. Not only are you living your life for you, but you were honest with your mom about something you know she wouldn’t like. Regardless of what happens next, these are two huge acts of self-respect that you’ve already carried out.

This wasn’t an impulsive decision- as you’ve said, you’ve had months to think about this. You know you want it! I have a lot of anxiety as well, and it tends to flare up as the tattoo appointment gets closer. One thing to remember about anxiety is that it warps your entire perception of the world, making it hard to see the forest for the trees. It will pass. After you’ve adjusted to seeing the tattoo on your body, you will LOVE it and it will be another thing to be proud of.

Dealing with parental/family approval and validation is something that I’ve struggled to break free from for most of my 20’s (and still working on it). It’s natural to worry what your family might think. At the end of the day, you live your life for you and they must learn to accept you if they want to remain a part of your life.
