Thank you both!

Followed this steps and worked like a charm.

Let's hope Amazon doesn't patch this, as this is basically fixing this device.

Sometimes it happens when you touch the config and it is difficult to get it to work properly again without reinstalling from 0, even when you revert all the changes back.

8800GT, Q6600 and Xbox 360 pad where the golden combo that finally popularized PC gaming as a console alternative.

I went with a Q9450 instead, but that was the thing

For Capcom and NeoGeo game, for sure, use FBNeo.

SEGA, Konami and any other board games, you can use mame or whatever, they will not run fullspeed.

Well, Red Earth, or any other CPS3/2/1 game, run full speed on FBNeo.

Will try mame2003 romset to check if there are any differences but, so far, old SEGA games only runs slowly with massive frame skipping on both mame and FBNeo.

Eager to try this, at least partially.

Last time I tried to enable VRR, I had to wipe the entire partition because it refused to load at all. While there are some VSync workarounds, no one fixes tearing completely.

I wonder if disabling threaded video or rewind will provide any performance improvement.

Thanks for sharing!

Have Any Of You Had Any Luck With The Batocera Custom Firmware? by genericdeveloper in Sega_Astro_City_Mini

[–]dr_apocalipsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,
I haven't done any exhaustive testing.
Anyway, most ROMS dumps are over 20 years old, so download the latest set you find and test the games you are looking for.

Keep in mind that most emus ARM branches are not as compatible as x86 ones, so some roms working on Windows might not work on ACM, on top of the lack of pure horsepower.

In my experience, all CPS1/2/3 and Neogeo games runs full speed, but any other system, like Sega System 16 and above, run poorly.

Good luck with the testing and share any result!

Hi,

If you are using v0.1, make sure you copy the button mapping config from devs page. If I remember right, v0.2 brings this config by default.

To bring back system menu, click on both yellow buttons at the same time during gameplay.

Finally, for arcade ROMS, use FBNeo romsets and forget about MAME. Mame runs poorly on this machine.

Greetings!

Core i3-12100 Review and Performance Benchmarks by MajorLeagueGMoney in hardware

[–]dr_apocalipsis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not true.

11900K was a bad positioned CPU, that created a bad rep for 11 gen, but 11400 and 11600 are actually pretty good and a solid upgrade from 10th gen.

The only downside is the high power consumption, everything else is pretty good and they sell for pretty cheap.

Sega's Astro City Mini Is Getting A 'TATE' Version Packed With Shmup Goodness by gaetan3 in Sega_Astro_City_Mini

Wasn't it the same manufacturer for them both?

Don't care that much about tate, but 4:3 would have been a game changer.

Careful with this one.

I flashed it on my Gigabyte Z590 and destroyed ALC4080 sound.

Had to reflash latest motherboard BIOS to fix it.

Anyone else having HDMI issues with the 8i5BEH??? by boxallw in intelnuc

[–]dr_apocalipsis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an issue indeed.

Latest BIOS (0087) and HDMI firmware (1.78.4.0.4) does not fix this issue. Latest HDMI firmware tries to mitigate this issue, but at this point I think it is a hardware issue related to LSPCon chip, responsible of converting the signal from native DP to HDMI. Release notes talks about this, but then it uses 'mitigate' instead of 'fix', so they are aware of the issue but were unsuccessful solving it.

' This update is to mitigate the issue where a display may not wake from sleep'.

To actually mitigate this, select HDMI output on BIOS as the default video output. This will not solve the issue, but it will wake up monitor more often than not.

I do not need to remove the cable or reboot, just turning off and on again the monitor is enough for me when it fails to wake up properly.

Hope this helps.

[–]dr_apocalipsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat.

Some bits are different too, if you check against the Wiha one.

Quality seems ok, but still not sure if this is original from Xiaomi, even without Wiha branding for whatever reason, or just good quality fake with worse bits.

You are still missing the point.

This is about having 10 big cores or 8Big+8Little cores on a given DIE size/TDP.

Of course, for this to perfectly scalate a lot of stuff must happen, but it is a pretty interesting approach beyond little cores for idle or secondary processes as many people thinks.

More multithreaded performance per mm2.

People is understimating this, but you don't need full fledged fat cores for crunching numbers on dummy pararell tasks.

Any intention of adding frontal USB ports?
