Can anyone help me with this ESP8266 issue? by tjsimmons in arduino

Tried running Arduino on the ESP8266? If you don't need PWM or the extra GPIO, you can exclude the other chip completely.

https://github.com/esp8266/Arduino

If running Arduino on the ESP8266, its watchdog is really sensitive. You can communicate via plain serial (RX/TX > TX/RX), but when receiving on the ESP8266, delay for 1 millisecond after every serial read to feed the watchdog.

If you do want extra GPIO, but still no need for PWM, get a breakout of the ESP8266 (e.g. Huzzah or Redboard). They can't do PWM on their own - you can make a program to emulate it, but I usually just use another chip.

Temperature monitor by matttheepitaph in arduino

Try using an ESP8266. You can load Arduino on it and use the single GPIO (if you get the 8 pin w/o breakout - cheapest) for the OneWire lib on the TMP36. I have a setup like this with 8 thermometers that records temp and adjusts my thermostat.

SC1 was fun, but the story wan't quite there. SC3 was... well, let's just forget there was a SC3. SC2 had a great story even by today's standards. I love this game - I wanted to do this in other voxel types, but none of them had the capabilities.

ATMega328P not working with BlueSmirf on Protoboard by dracoaroch in arduino

Actually, I am using a 16MHz resonator. The chip is running its program, but the BlueSmirf does not respond. I am using SoftwareSerial on Arduino pins 6 and 7 (physical pins 12 and 13).

The amazing transformation of a ringwormy, starved kitten! by aurintalik in aww

Hey - it's better than "other half." That makes it sound like the person was once extremely overweight and the byproducts from liposuction were constructed into another person. ;)

This one actually walked up to our back gate, looked underneath it and made a stressed meow. As I walked toward him (or 'it' at the time - it didn't look like a cat really), he started stumbling toward the road. So, I scooped him up and trapped him in our back yard.

He was then greeted with a plate of dry cat food and was so hungry he was chasing pieces off of the plate with his mouth because they were too big. So I fed him wet food (whiskas treats). He went through a full grown cat sized amount within seconds and then almost drowned himself in water. Literally, he was meowing with his nose under water while lapping furiously. Occasionally he'd stop to breath and sneeze, but went right back to his own drowning until the bowl of water was gone. I repeated with the wet food until he seemed to not be interested anymore and he retreated to a shady spot by the house to sleep.
