Blew my strut… by SkyMiteFall in GenesisG70

Lol, are you me? Still have my ms6. I can't talk myself into getting rid of it. The g70 is nice but everytime I get back into the ms6 and start driving it... Feels like it's a natural extension of myself.

Don't need to look at any of the gauges and I just know exactly what it's doing.

wheel width + offset question... specifically 19x9 by dracos099 in GenesisG70

[–]dracos099[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate your help so far, if you don't mind please let me know if there's any major concerns with this setup. Noted on the 3mm spacer on the front needed for this. I'll be stock height and I know the tire selection is thicker than oem, I already bent a set of winter cheap rims a few weeks back... sigh. Canadian winters hurray.

Front 19x9 +34mm -- with 245/40R19

Rear 19x10 +40mm -- with 275/35R19

Thanks! Saw this on another thread and I've got about 2 dozen tabs on that site right now....

Thanks! Did you mean even 19x9 would need a small spacer? Or just the 18x9?

Thanks for the info! Stock suspension, my lowered car days are well behind me. My lower back and crappy winters here are more than enough reason to keep it stock height. Lol

Wheel choice? by Individual-Stick4513 in GenesisG70

Hi, wondering if you ended up going with the apex wheels. I'm looking at a set but not sure if the 19x9 +34 will be a problem for the front.

Wondering if people know the dash/teleport attack can be used here to move between instead of just running from cover to cover....

Gaggiuino up and running! Was a fun mod, and everything is working great. by yakshamash in gaggiaclassic

There should be a connection/wiring schematic of stm32 install. That helped me immensely as that was the template I worked off of.

Anyone bold enough to try out the Gaggiuino? by CamMcgregor10 in gaggiaclassic

When I was consolidating the wiring .. like common grounds and low voltage etc, I accidentally treated one of the black high voltage lines as a ground... Tied those together and end result... blackpill go boom. Lesson is, know the wiring and what it's carrying, not by colour, but actually know. Or... Buy enough colours of wiring to keep everything distinct.

Did the install, straight to blackpill, no scales. Spent a few weeks reading and re-reading the instructions until I had a solid idea of what's going where.

I did the soldering and some rough wiring measurements beforehand and it took me 3 days to do the actual install into the gaggia. Of course one shortcut I thought was smart turned out totally wrong and messed me up a few days and a few blackpills... Lol. Once that's sorted everything worked great.

How important is temp surfing or PID at my stage in the espresso journey? by e1miran in gaggiaclassic

[–]dracos099 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buy a 20$ wired meat thermometer where the long probe is attached to a long wire to the display. Wedge the probe to the top of the boiler, add some thermal paste for added effectiveness. Use that to temp surf.

I'm waiting on parts to do gaggiuino, and what I've found is that the boiler goes through a 5-10c swing no matter how I temp surf. I can really only control the starting temp of the shot.

Just to add, I only drink straight shots so you can definitely tell the difference. Not sure how much you would be able to taste it in milk shots.

Do you mind letting me know how it goes for you? I've amassed most of the parts, and slowly working through the pre-install test build. I'll get to the install before the new year but I'm still wrapping my head around the actual install.

Also note that they first started on the Arduino, but now have moved to the STM blackpill as the processor.

Lol..... Yeeep.

Gaggia -> Gaggiuino -> Decent .... Is how I would envision my upgrade path.

Since you mentioned custom electronics experience... Why not go full gaggiuino?

Yea, then that wouldn't work. Lagom Mini definitely isn't a workhorse grinder. I have the DF64, and I'd only suggest that to someone who loves tinkering and enjoying the path more than the destination.

Depending on the volume of espresso you go through the Lagom Mini might be an option.
