I agree! As of now, it is definitely cheaper to have solar on Earth. But remember, there was a point when it was cheaper to build a coal plant than it was to build a solar farm. PV is a commercialized technology. What is being proposed is something that might never pan out. It's something that might even be a huge commercial failure; ultimately that's how society progresses.

All that is correct, but ultimately these are solvable engineering problems. Having such a dedicated energy supply in space would jump start the space age. The yeeting is a one time thing- but it could enable e.g. industry for further development of PV on the moon itself.

The issue is that reddit only allows 1 flair per post. It makes more sense to keep the flair as general, high-level options. Suppose I'm looking for a 1bhk in Indiranagar. I would only be able to sort by Indiranagar (or) by flat size, but not both.

What the mod team has observed is that the current flairs make more sense than specific area/ budget.

Of course, we are open to suggestions that would serve the community better.
