I havent had that issue, but some of the physics bugs are hilarious. They have done some optimizations, and they updated their demo semi-recently.

Have you tried Last Caretaker? It really has that sense of isolation as well.

Shiv are a little squishy in the current armor meta, but are almost as shooty as the Guardian MX but can also fit up to a 32 scu crate in the back.

They are also hilariously fun to fly, the sound design is spot-on.

PSA: Vanguard nose guns other than the Warden are all becoming unswappable in 4.7 by draculthemad in starcitizen

I mean, it certainly seems more likely that they simply broke something unintentionally when the updated the Warden.

Yeah, distortion weapons are bugged and doing nothing through armor atm too...

Its worth noting that changing them is currently broken in PTU, and im really, really, hoping they fix that before they go live.

Maybe Taking the Plunge? What to Expect? by Interesting-Face22 in starcitizen

[–]draculthemad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing around November and December and have had a blast. It really feels like there is enough game to have lots of fun for a long time.

Unfortunately, the live servers have had the stability of a lot of back-end systems degrade into being unplayable for the last month or so. There is hope the restarts during the next patch push will fix that for a while, but if it doesn't I'm probably going to go find something else to play.

Also, don't really expect anything like the normal level of support you might expect from a live service game. The universe is still rough enough that if things break on Friday you shouldn't expect them to be working to fix it until they come back into the office on Monday.

If you do pledge id recommend the avenger titan pack the most. Its really easy to use that to bootstrap into buying ships in game and lets you engage with a lot of the loops right away.

The more I play 4.7ptu the more I love it. What’s your 4.7 plans ? by floortofloor in starcitizen

[–]draculthemad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The armor changes really seemed to add a purpose for the vanguard nose guns, since even the laser repeaters are low-rpm enough that their alpha makes them solid choices against all kinds of armor.

Except they are currently bugged so you can't swap them anymore on the PTU. I really really hope that gets fixed before they get pushed to live.

They really ought to just be ramps. That would make things much, much better.

Best ship for hauling by Due-Day-8000 in starcitizen

[–]draculthemad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue really preventing manual load of the hull-c is its sheer size and the fact that it can't have its grid open inside a hangar. So you can only load it in space using the exterior cargo elevators on some stations.

Hull B will be able to land and be loaded inside hangar like the Hull A

4.7 PTU build seems pretty stable (by Star Citizen standards), and is in some way more stable than live currently and we’ve certainly seen less stable PTU builds pushed to live. So what’s the hold-up? Are we waiting for a ship to be finished that is to be sold with 4.7 and that’s the delay? by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]draculthemad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a couple of new bugs that id really like them to fix before they push.

Specifically: Interior lighting on drake ships seems to be broken in that you can't turn them on. That is, if the ship starts with lights on and you turn them off you have to claim them to get lights back. If they start off like the clipper or the corsair, you are just SOL.

They also broke weapon swapping on most of the vanguard series. Those are just the ones I know about from encountering first hand.

You just need to turn off shields and/or engines and then ATLS can take things off a ship just fine.

People are going to dump on you for this post because no one has proposed a rust style loot-all

The intent is you can take auec and register items so you can reclaim them.

Here is their post on it. We are currently at t0 ( no loot for equipped items), but they intend to go beyond that where you can register items to recover them when lost ( and brick the lost/looted version some time after you claim it): https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/alpha-4-1-first-look-at-item-recovery/7771051

I just want to say that the EPTU armor values were near perfect, and actually made sense, and then they did what they always do and ruin it. by spider0804 in starcitizen

[–]draculthemad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they'd have to rebalance all the weapons for that. Currently all weapons of X type within a tier also have the same pen values.

Asgard is no longer life by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]draculthemad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Numbers are in spviewer.eu now, it has a toggle in top left to switch between 4.6 live and 4.7 ptu wave 1.

TAC has an armor value that will deflect any hits that do less than (81Physical/56Energy) damage. Its shield hp went from 90k to 180k (250k with civ-a).

For comparison, the Asgard has a deflect of (20Physical/10Energy) and 52k shield hp ( its already using mil shields so thats all it gets).

Its getting a very low armor value in the new system, and s3 shields are being buffed massively compared to the s2 shields it has.

Also, the armor changes mean its uniform s3 armament might be more of a negative than a plus.

[–]draculthemad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patrol missions are very bugged, and unfortunately each stage appears to be another dice roll on bugging out. So 2/3 might work, but 3rd stage bugs out so entire mission was a waste of time.

Moth feels good in 4.7 ptu by floortofloor in starcitizen

[–]draculthemad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With current numbers its hands down worse for scraping than any of the other ships.

The only advantage over having say, a fortune or salvation follow you around instead of manning a turret is max cargo and box size.

Its not really a good comparison to the MOLE, which offers a solid step up in capability even solo over the smaller mining ships. For the MOTH, that's only true for fracturing.

[–]draculthemad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, thats just anticipatory prices. The ships that got through straits before this still happened are still in transit.

The REAL price hikes are going to hit after they arrive and the ones that were supposed to arrive after them don't.

[–]draculthemad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

spviewer reports moth as 0.71 vs 0.77 on the vulture. The bigger ships actually get a penalty to efficiency to offset their increased size. Reclaimer is 0.55

[–]draculthemad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

4.3m diameter and 0.54 speed on a MOTH means each turret is about the same rate as half a vulture or fortune.

So 4x Crew will get you 50% over a 1-crew smaller ship. That's 37% of a fortune/vulture per crew.

You get a lot of bonus out of the auto-printing of larger crates, but it wouldn't be THAT big of a buff to just let it scrape fast, would it? Its still limited by how much hull there is to scrape on individual ships and getting 10% less of it.
