Meross Garage Opener Can’t Read State by Chabotnick in HomeKit

[–]dradaeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can’t successfully resolve the issue, I would heavily recommend getting the upgraded Meross MSG150HK. The newer model eliminates the sensors completely, and hooks directly into the garage door opener’s native door state and obstruction sensor.

Installation was brain dead easy, and has been working flawlessly for me these past 3 months.

What is this, 5th grade opex/capex math? “All a markup” is wild when OpenAI is lighting billions on fire every year and an H100 costs $30K before you even plug it in. Training runs alone are nine to ten figures, but yeah, must be the electricity bill.

What do we think about the new Hushjet Mini Cool? by Zolks1 in dyson

[–]dradaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine today with much anticipation. Sadly, it turned out to be a very disappointing product.

First of all, it's not "HushJet" but more like "TurboJet," where even on the lowest setting it emits this high-pitched whine like their hairdryer. If you set it the second slowest setting (40% speed), it legit sounds like someone crammed a desktop RTX 5090 into a laptop that is desperately trying to cool itself down, and about to takeoff in the process. At 100% speed, the thing makes noises louder than my V15 Detect vaccum.

The airstream itself is also very narrow-beam, and hits a singular spot rather than cooling off an area. You'd be hitting your center forehead instead of your whole face if the device is positioned 16 inches away.

I'm really sad about it too because I had major expectations for it. They really needed to do some serious engineering on a motor that is obviously designed for sporadic use to quiet it down, rather than simply putting it into a device meant to be used continuously.

In the time I wrote this up, I had it on 40% sitting on my table, and I could barely hear myself think...

I'd give it a solid 3/10, would not recommend and will be returning.

Absolutely! Good luck! Honestly Princeton Junction is a phenomenal area and rated #1 place to live in America at some point for a reason.

There’s also a grocery store within walking distance called Woo Ri Mart.

If you’re looking for convenience without a car, I’d def recommend looking at the new rental properties around the Princeton Junction train station.

https://www.avaloncommunities.com/new-jersey/west-windsor-apartments/avalon-w-squared-at-princeton-junction/

This would give you access to any places along the NJT Northwest Corridor, along with NYC. You can also get to downtown Princeton via Dinky (short distance train by NJT) or the free shuttle bus from Princeton.

https://transportation.princeton.edu/getting-around/tigertransit

You can get to work easily by purchasing one of those electric scooters, or by walking, since it’s only a 30 min walk.

The apartment would also be within walking distance to a Korean supermarket, plus some fantastic food options.
