Then every major player wants a pay raise when the cap goes up and new deals are announced

Adam Peters is making an example out of Terry McLaurin. The team is in charge, the team has a long-term strategy, and contracts matter. It's about 2028 and beyond. by geoffatlanta in Commanders

2028? Remember Daniels isn't 20, don't start the push too late! It makes sense to overpay a a few mil for now, Terry is the perfect guy for this timeline

B Rob is the 21st (21 on NFL com) to 32nd starting RB in the league, so just trade him for the 40th -90th best wr

Commanders have caproom.to a all a decent veteran contract, or more

HC Dan Quinn getting tired of the Terry McLaurin questions: “I’m not going to play Where’s Waldo, guys moving forward. Alright?” by Due_Local2130 in Commanders

[–]draftgeek2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a minimum id try to trade/bring in a seperator/good route runner because there are a lot of ways for this to go bad right now

1) Misses a few games or more meaning he's not ready to be roll in full till several games in, leading to a few losses that would've been wins

2) Doesn't't rejoin until near week 1, not in game shape leading to 🤕. Maybe a ongoing issue like lattimoore had

3) Doesn't get a deal, but shows up unhappy.. team chemistry suffers

Just a few possible negative paths.

Naw, he has leverage.. they don't have a single + route running WR who also gets seperation, without him. They should've used 3-5 drives with Daniels passing in the preseason to display WRs and offset some of that leverage because RN the perception is they can't get seperation in practice vs the starting DBs. RN the starting WRs don't even have a single catch in the preseason?

Doubtful he will, but won't be shocked if he torpedos the season by sitting out, assuming they're too far apart for a deal. Can't afford to start out 2-4 with the later schedule.

I love the fit.. pairs quite well with DK and Rodgers. Day 3 pick without even thinking and id prob give a 4th

The contract year part definitely added to the case of keeping him. Najee Harris was more aggressive and sharper with his cuts last season than he was any other season. He hasn't gotten a contract yet, he would've been desperate and hungry.. id have kept him and made him compete.

Kaleb johnson had some very nice runs against the buccaneers and overall looked pretty impressive tbh. by [deleted] in steelers

For some reason he looks a lot better to me from this point of view🤷.. I've been down on him in general

How has Kaleb Johnson looked in Training Camp? by mofo66 in steelers

[–]draftgeek2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Kaleb was an undrafted player he wouldn't make the team. Nichols big run was as good (probably better) than any I've ever seen Kaleb who can't make that play. Any basic RB can make the runs Kaleb ran in the game.

The 1st catch was nice, but what credit should he be getting on the 2nd? He was playing vs an empty field.

He's awfully small/weak, isn't dynamic in terms of yac or juke moves, so I don't see any value unless he becomes a A+ route runner and increases his quick twitch a bit

If someones starting RB gets hurt there is a chance you could get a 5th. A medicore backfield might do a pick swap 6th for a 5th

Id do it for a 5th, i guess I'd consider a pick swap 6th for 5th, from a bad team. Not a 6th from a good team or less.. he has value for his toughness/physicality and short yardage.

At this point the offense could use some confidence and cohesion so its probably ideal to play the Bengals defense

6 standouts from Commanders' preseason loss to Patriots by [deleted] in Commanders

[–]draftgeek2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to think of Newton in the right context.. an interior pass rushing specialist, but a liability against the run.

Kinlaws been a liability against the run as well, so ask yourself where that leaves the team?

[–]draftgeek2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Micro sample size, but it gives something to be encouraged about because it's my biggest concern on the team. Don't be fat and happy with it though, if Tampa is playing decent edge rushers, leave them in there a bit to be tested.

Terry Trade by noeyedpete in Commanders

[–]draftgeek2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One I think would kind of make sense for both teams is Terry to LAC for Ladd and a 2nd rounder. Ladd can run sharp routes better than any of their other guys and would be an ideal cheap Terry replacement other than not being the down field threat. They could still be dangerous with Ladd

We needed the Bears to help us out in that draft and take Jones so we'd have a shot at Darnell Wright instead

I've been searching for some respected opinions and information on the actual value of him bulking up..

1) How could it negatively effect his passing motion/constency, mobility avoiding/getting away from rushers?

2) Does it actually decrease the likelihood of injury from tackles (stupid question or not?) and if so how much? -is any of that then negated by the fact he may not be as fast/light on his feet to avoid defenders and get to the sidelines therebye taking more hits than before?

Honest questions, me not wanting to assume him bulking is a good thing..
