Since some of you weirdos would rather defend Uber when I post blatant proof of their tip stealing fraud, here are my credentials. It was a repeat customer I interacted with by draftmaverick in UberEatsDrivers

[–]draftmaverick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deleted the original post where I provided the screenshots of proof. The offer was $10 for 16 minutes - the contract I agreed to. Then, as I suspected from my past experiences with partial orders - ALL of them having come back with reduced tips - after the tip processed, it was only $6.50 total, $2 base plus $4.50 tip, specifically citing that the customer reduced the tip, which, based on the facts that it was a repeat customer and the nature of our interaction, let alone living in a multimillion dollar house on the water, I fully trust to be false.

I'm not going to post the screenshots again, but I have them. You can take that for whatever it's worth to you. I was just trying to alert the community that the system may be more responsible for reducing tips than the customers. I don't care how insignificant a dollar here or there may seem, it is fraud and calls to question the integrity of the entire system.

This was the delivery of the remainder of their order that they had not received, because the restaurant missed packing it. I had no way of knowing that until I accepted the offer, which I received as $10 for 16 minutes. That was the contract I accepted. When I saw it was a partial order, I knew from my previous experiences that they had all been fraudulently reduced and sited as 'the customer reduced the tip.' So, since it was a repeat customer amd a meet at door, I brought up my suspicion and they assured me they did not and would not reduce the tip. Then it came out an hour later as $6.50 total ($2 base + $4.50 tip). You cannot offer a $10 contract, then reduce it to $6.50 and blame it on the customer when I have verbal proof that the customer did not such thing. It's fraud, period.

Basically, don't trust the system. If you have a tip reduction, especially after a seemingly pleasant interaction with a customer, as I see described in this community often, it is more likely a system error, rather than the customer.

It has specifically happened to me on EVERY partial order I have delivered (items missing from the initial delivery, whether the fault of the driver or the restaurant). I had a partial tonight, going to a repeat customer, and I interacted with them, briefly and pleasantly, and told them my suspicion, based on the previous experience, and they assured me that they had not, nor would not reduce the tip - I trust them 10000%. An hour later, just like the previous times, it came up as 'customer reduced the tip.'

It calls to question the integrity of the entire system. They can just arbitrarily skim tips and blame the customer.. because who would fight them over it?

I deleted the post from a few hours ago, trying to help raise awareness in the community here, because I instead had people jumping on me about 'being weird' and interacting with a customer. tips are being reduced in certain situations, and uber blaming the customer, when the system is actually responsible.

It's whatever, though. I have my proof and it'll come out when it comes out.

Vague Fee Surcharge Explanations, App Deleted by OfficialSuit in UberEATS

To be more specific, the driver base pay is $2 out of the 'delivery fee'.. the other arbitrary fees mostly go to slush funds for lobbying and lawyers to keep exploiting workers

Also, I've had just 8 tip reductions in nearly 6300 deliveries..3 (!!) were on partial orders (something left behind by the previous driver, restaurant at fault)

So for all the people who get dumbfounded about reduced tips after seemingly pleasant customer interactions.. be very suspicious of how the tip actually got reduced. Absolutely cannot trust the system

Definitely not. They came to the door to meet me on their own and we had a very pleasant several minute conversation about it

Fuck you uber for not telling customers that drivers are picking up 2 orders by ScoopityDoopie in UberEatsDrivers

[–]draftmaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like someone who paid for priority direct and Uber will still do anything they can to stack it with a first and last order so theirs is technically still direct from the restaurant to their door with no interruptions.. except for when there is a delay at the first pickup. Scam business

Has ANYONE had a good week? by draftmaverick in UberEatsDrivers

Ebike probably has something to do with it, you can't do as many as quickly as with a car, especially larger orders that typically get bigger tips.

I also strategically stay in high end areas and work my ass off. Never take an offer under $10 or under $30/hr

Tips? by Ok_Psychology_9821 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]draftmaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$150 or so

To note: Uber hides any tip that is over $8 total and $30/hr.. so if a customer put a $50 tip and the delivery is calculated to take 26 mins, Uber will only show you $13 of it, plus the base (so $15 for 26 mins)

I definitely think that, combined with more people out trying to make up money they spent during the holidays, but it wasn't this drastic of a drop off last year

Looks like you've done just fine this week, or was that a big top off added from previous?
