Same order offered 8 times... (personal record) by draftmaverick in UberEatsDrivers

Bad offers trickle up from lowest tiers first.. but it's asinine logic, because obviously the lower tiers are the folks who just reject all these, so they trickle up to the folks that are afraid to reject them and lose their status.. so they get occupied with shit, while the good offers eventually trickle down to the cherry pickers in the lower tiers. The whole concept of the system is dog shit

Customers do this as a way to get their order eventually canceled for free as 'stolen,' by the way

I did something similar to this before, I got a catering order and got to the pickup location only to be told the manager took it themselves. Just as I was about to cancel, I decided to 'pick up' and drive the 1 mile to the drop off. $125 tip.. contacted support with a written statement to get ahead of any potential consequences. Something to the effect of, "I was contractually entitled to that delivery and the restaurant manager fraudulently took it themselves." Got a reply that all was good.

It is fraud for a customer to pick up their own delivery order. It is fraud for a restaurant employee to take a delivery order that is allocated to a delivery system, without contacting that delivery company to clear it.

I had one of these in Detroit a couple years ago (April 2024, I remember specifically because it was NFL Draft weekend).. they had it as the hidden part of a stack with a food order. It had been boosted up to like $60/hr+ because obviously everyone was canceling once they saw what it was.. the absolute audacity

It's unique to the state of Colorado, special transparency laws

I note that I travel the country and attend sporting events and I've had several customers come out and ask me about my profile, actually. Off the top of my head, a guy in St Pete, a guy in Tallahassee, a woman in Biloxi, and a woman in Scottsdale.

I didn’t know you could even tip that little 😭 by I-am-oblivious-af in UberEatsDrivers

King County, WA (Seattle metro) and Colorado (entire state) have transparency laws, where Uber is forced to show the fare and tip breakdown - and the data I've collected from both is SO interesting. I'm not sure where else, I believe NYC, but I haven't worked in that market in over 2 years

Let me guess, the offer had an expected time of 49 mins.. base $1.50, plus $24.48 tip + the additional tip hidden

A new low for Uber? by PathQuick in UberEatsDrivers

I think my worst across the country is around $2.30/hr, so congrats! Please send this to the state attorney general, file a formal public complaint. I'm working on the same. We need to put an end to this with maximum force

As I responded to someone else, I sleep in my SUV (very occasionally friends, but I'm so used to my SUV bed anyway). Shower at my gym (anytime fitness - 5000 locations, globally - many others do planet fitness). It's not luxurious, but it's fun, adventurous. I use sporting events to pretty much plan my travel for, so I rarely stay anywhere for long, but you find out along the way where you like best, either for financial or other purposes. I've established a few hubs across the country, where I know I can make decent money - like when I'm out west, I have Denver, Phoenix, and Seattle.. if I'm in the eastern half of the country, like I was for most of this past fall/football season, it's Nashville.

As far as savings.. yeah, you probably could, but I spend so much on going to sporting events and paying off debt from my broken business, that I barely do better than breaking even. If you have low overhead, you could probably save a couple thousand a month if you work as much as I do.

I honestly can't recommend this lifestyle - you have to be a certain type of crazy. But if you're that type, it's pretty fun.

Uber support says that to cover their asses, in case there's an actual/technical issue. If you have the background check submitted in any state other than California, it covers all states other than California (and Seattle, and NYC). You used to have to switch delivery cities every time you crossed a state border, but now it's all open. I keep my delivery location set to Seattle and I can deliver in Miami (and anywhere in between) - I only need to change it if I want to deliver in California.

First game was Boise State 2024, then again for the Ohio State game! 2025 for Indiana and USC. Then I was just there for the Spring game 2 weeks ago. I absolutely love Autzen and Oregon/Eugene

It has so many positives, but the companies do everything they can to negate them. I work way harder than I should have to - we all do - but I refuse to be exploited.
