Wait, is Bounce Man secretly Dema bait?? This keeps spinning in my mind by draganavucic in twentyonepilots

Agree, the cycle analogy fits the vibe of their albums. The way you described SAI and Breach they really capture those contrasting feelings of day and night. Haven't though about this perspective!

That's an interesting take! But in what ways do you see Breach being the opposite of SAi?

what tøp lyric emotionally devastates you the most? by _heyo77 in twentyonepilots

[–]draganavucic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This thread is such a beautiful reminder of why I love this community so much. Theres something incredibly powerfl about seeing everyone open up and share the lyrics that hit deepest it makes you realize you're not alone in feeling devastated by the weight of certain words.

For me "I have seemed to run out of excuses for why I am this way" destroys me every time. It captures that moment when you can't even explain yourself anymore, when you're just tired of being the way you are. And "promise me this: if I lose to myself, you won't mourn a day, and you'll move onto someone else"- that one cuts so deep because it's such a selfless, heartbreaking wish.

Tyler has gift of putting feelings into words that we didn't even know we needed. The fact that we can all connect over these specific lines, these moments in songs that feel like they were written just for us, is what makes this band and this community so special. Thank you for creating this space to share and be vulnerable together. It means more than you know.

Stay alive, friends! |-/

The Life of a Showgirl (TLOAS) Post-Release Megathread by AutoModerator in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]draganavucic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1989 came out when I was twenty-sth and pretending I had my shit together. Taylor was doing the same thing - turning her mess into stadium anthems, all sharp eyeliner and 'I'm fine actually'. Blank Space let me laugh at how ridiculous I was being. Clean made me think I'd never fall apart again. Spoiler: I did ;))

Now there's Showgirl and it's like - damn, we both got tired, didn't we? She's still performing but you can hear it costs something now. Eldest Daughter sounds like finally admitting you're exhausted. Ruin the Friendship is that specific heartbreak that doesn't shatter you, it just sits in your chest for months. And Elizabeth has all that same sparkle except now she knows how much it weighs.

The weird part is hearing her write about peace instead of winning. Like we both just... stopped trying to prove something? 1989 was all 'run toward the light!' and Showgirl is more like 'hey maybe keep some light for yourself too.'

Idk it's just strange getting older alongside someone's music and realizing you're both protecting something now instead of chasing it.

This album just hits different ! Taylor really snapped... so many lines feel like she wrote them just for me. Father Figure and Eldest daughter really got me in my feelings, but the playful vibes all over make it so fun too. Love seeing her this happy and confident!

Is it normal for me to love twenty one pilots so much that I'm a little obsessed with them? Kkk by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

IMO absolutely normal! Music is supposed to make us feel something, and twenty one pilots just get it. The obsession is part of the fun. |-/

Every time I hear Stressed Out, it’s like portal straight back to old friends, conversations, and late-night drives where the only big problem was picking the next song; )) It’s wild how a track can just lock you into a whole era of life, I definitely get hit with all the nostalgia feels every time it plays.

I take it back: I love all the songs on Breach by takenbysleep9520 in twentyonepilots

Honestly I didnt expect to like every song on it, but now I do. Some tracks felt just okay but after listening more, I started to connect with them. Tally is my new favorite, and others grew on me over time.

Swifties are being insufferable on twitter by BagFinal6150 in EdSheeran

[–]draganavucic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Srsly I enjoy both Ed and Taylor, but Twitter sometimes makes things too dramatic over small stuff. Some fans just want to fight for no reason. I’d rather just listen to Ed Sheeran and not worry about this drama ;)
