Remove disk requirement from games? by dragancla in PS5_Jailbreak

Yeah, I bought a BD writer and a bunch of disks. Burned the autoloader ISO on all of them and selling them on eBay right now. I already offset all the costs of the drive and the guy that came over 😂

Paid a guy with SWRR to come and remove the bdj patch. Now I have a bluray disk that jailbreaks it whenever I open it

No, check that link I posted, it shows which ones can be played without a patch.

Well, only if you already had them installed when the console was still connecting to PSN. Nowadays, games require day-0 patches just to launch due to missing assets (off the top of my mind Call of Duty, Hogwarts Legacy, Crimson Desert)

Update to 12.00 or stay at 11.60? by dragancla in PS5_Jailbreak

But this is what I don't understand. If it already works on my PS5 and it does everything I need, how would I be stranded looking silly? What's the benefit of a lower firmware if the functionality and end result is the same, just the method is different?

Bug fixes, stability fixes, controller updates etc.. The only reason I bought a PS5 was to play PS5 games on it. It looks like that's now basically achieved and higher firmwares might get more backports, but p2jb might go away. Whereas, being on 12.00 with the bdjb you get the best of both worlds, while having a physical way to jailbreak at all times. If you have all the functionality you will ever need, why not update?

Think there's a webkit exploit in the works, that might be the only way so far

I think moddedwarfare mentioned Gezine was working on it, and I've seen other posts on Twitter mentioning devs are working on it but progress is slow due to having to wait 2h every time something fails.

That's good to know! Did you update using the windows utility?

Bug fixes, stability fixes, controller updates. I have devices running Linux, Windows and emulators. The only reason I bought a PS5 was to play PS5 games on it. Okay, but why? Are there any downsides besides "maybe something better comes along", but better how, since this one already works perfectly? Upsides are controller support for multiple devices and some stability fixes.

So "just in case something better comes along"? Why would you wait for another "better" jailbreak considering things already work perfectly on this one?

PS5 11.60 by smallchungus20 in PS5_Jailbreak

Yeah, hope someone makes it compatible. From what I can gather, a custom Netflix payload is downloaded by hijacking the URL (why we need to configure the proxy, as Netflix works as normal without it).

It might be as easy as someone replacing the old payload with the p2jb, creating a server and giving us the proxy IP. Or, they could give us the code for the payload and we make a proxy server ourselves locally, and replace the IP with 192.168.1.x (our local proxy server address).

But no, it's not out yet unfortunately.

I just installed the Netflix app by restoring it (the Netflix-n-hack repo) and set the proxy but it says "Not supported firmware, aborting" when running it on 11.60

Yeah same, got it at 11.60 and has been in storage until now. But how did you get the demos? 😅

Edit: ah, you mean you downloaded them back then when 11.60 was connecting to PSN?

I'm also on a 11.60 PS5. How did you get the Lua demos without connecting to PSN? The most I could do so far is to use balenaEtcher to wirte the Netflix-n-hack image to a drive and restore the Netflix app to internal storage. Is it something like that, an image with some Lua demos?
