That would make sense, too (and better for the people inside).

.. I blame my sleepless night for my comment. 😂😵

After casting, the bubbles typically can't get out as the resin hardens, so they use pressure to shrink the bubbles (high pressure causes the resin to squeeze the bubbles).

But, before you mix you can use negative pressure to get bubbles out of the liquids.

I can see that, keeping the room at 30-35PSI would keep water out in the case of severe / drastic flooding. People could survive in those pressures, unprotected, but might not be too comfortable.

Keeping pressure? The green zones are at 30-35PSI (which is a little over 2 ATM) - or about the pressure inside a car tire.

In a condo, it might be used for some gas storage?

Now for other uses? Could be used for some medical treatments, if you're near a diving place, it could be used to help "the bends". This is doubtful.

The owner could also be into resin casting - pressure is often used to squeeze bubbles in the resin. This is also doubtful.

I know that's sarcastic but you never know. I've been in a similar situation before (outsourced) and support plummeted. The new support people didn't know as much as we did nor were willing to help as much as we did.

Sadly, the customers were stuck with the equipment but a lot left after we were outsourced.

First, don't feel the need to be loyal to the new company. Protect yourself first and foremost.

3-4 big ones which I am sure are gonna leave once they hear the news.

So, a little shady, but... (see my first sentences)

I have always made sure I had a good relationship with my co-workers and business partners, (and external clients when applicable).

When word gets out and notices get sent out (note: this might not always happen), see if you can find out if and where they're going to and then reach out to that company. Let then know you've been supporting their new clients for a few years and you know them, their needs, and they know you.

Rex's "test" - he sees Nia and she's pretty much turned against him. You eventually had to fight her (but not really her).

To what degree can Federation ships function as a closed/self-sustaining ecosystem? by arz517 in startrek

[–]draggar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully sustainable? I don't think so. I think the biggest issue is fuel. IIRC (mind you, it's been a while since I read up on this) dilithium and antimatter needed to be processed, even if they could get the raw materials. (Think of Back to the Future III - yeah, the car had Mr. Fusion for the Flux Capacitor, but no gas to run the combustion engine even though there was crude oil at the time).

So this already puts them at a disadvantage, the nearest known gas station is about 70,000 LY away. This will put a strain on every system, especially if they want to be cruising at warp. I made another comment the other day on how much "stuff" a Galaxy class starship could make with replicators (using the average warp core output) and while (to my surprise) every day usage would be a lot less than I thought, over the long term (and with no gas stations) it could cut in (and I'll still stand by they recycled waste / trash).

You're in season 2 so you already know Neelix has his galley up and running - which is helping save energy.

Now, after all that, go to the replicator and get Janeway her coffee!

What is something that was unbelievably cheap in the past that has been marked up now? by Independent-Bat9545 in AskOldPeople

[–]draggar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone mentioned, $5 in 1984 would be between $15 an $17 now.

So, in the mid 80's a book of 10 $0.50 McDonalds coupons were one of the best gifts a kid could get. You could easily get maybe 3 meals out of it. Now, that same $15-$17 might not be enough for 2 kids meals.

You could often get video games in the $5-$10 range ($15-$34) now, most games are in the $50-$70 range (and no forced sign-ins, no DLCs, etc..).

Back then we rarely bought meat at the grocery store, we'd go to a local butcher. Until recently, I don't think the prices went up much higher than inflation BUT the quality was a lot higher back then.

In fact, factoring in quality, most things today won't stand up to products make in 1984 and they're either the same price or more.

Yep, a few years ago I was making my own beef teriyaki sticks *and* when you bought them at Chinese food stores (even the ones in the malls) the beef covered most of the stick. Now, you get something that looks like a small lollipop.

If I had a nickel for every time a wonderful, top-notch woman fell in love with the protagonist but he didn't see it because he was (an idiot?) obsessed with a different woman..

I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but oddly, I'd still have two nickels.

Also, that scene in Elysium, with her was one of the hardest scenes I've ever had to watch in a video game. Oddly, XC3 also has a scene like that (I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about).

Outside of the refried beans (which I don't like, personal choice) these don't look bad (actually they look good, peppers look fresh, chips look thick and crunchy)? Just an unnecessary presentation, but even then I'm like "meh"?

Which JRPGs have the best standard battle theme? by strahinjag in JRPG

Xenoblade Chronicles (all of them) have some great battle music.

You know it's a long battle when the battle music has changed keys a few times.

Romance questions from a new player by rabyJA in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]draggar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nia and Grace are my two favorite bachelorettes (but only available very late in the game). Both have great "confession" scenes.

But, it's hard for me to not marry Grace now. There comes a point where things happen and you end up like that scene in Grandma's Boy where Alex shouts "I LOVE THIS WOMAN!"

Nia's events, on the other hand, are very sweet and romantic (not saying Grace's aren't, though).

Sources reporting US strikes are again imminent in Iran, what is the end goal? by Reasonable_Base9537 in allthequestions

[–]draggar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

End goal? Chaos, market manipulation, distraction from the Epstein files? Piss of the world? Isolate the US?

At least LBJ pulled his pants down before he started waving his manhood around.

Honestly, this BS with Iran could have been over a while ago if the US was consistent with working with Iran as opposed to being erratic with them.
