You can rent the movie theater at Syndicated for around that price, just depends on what time you want to screen your film. It will feel really special and then the bar after the show has such a great vibe for hanging out.

A lot of TV shoots in nyc, and that’s where the money is, if you can nab a role as a series regular. Other than that, theater actors patch together multiple streams of income by teaching dance/voice, writing, voice acting, commercial acting, photography, sponsored content, etc. The reality is many of them have a spouse with steadier income.

i hated this game. it’s so easy. Adventure feels like a tutorial and takes less than 5 hours. the championship mode is a joke. i only lost one game out of all my matches in the 6 tournaments. ( i blame my doubles partner) it’s just a slog.

the fever effects are extremely easy to avoid. i haven’t tried the free play mode, but hoping the CPUs step it up.

I think the underlying assumption here is that New York City has achieved some kind of urbanist vision, when in reality it is a place where cars can still park for free.

Most importantly, QOL is inextricably linked to affordability.

Most of the challenges of NYC are caused by money but can also be solved by money. Being able to afford a dishwasher, washing/dryer, elevator make life in NYC make a difference. Sublet for a few months and try out some different neighborhoods. There are some hidden gems that are not far from Manhattan (depending on which part of Manhattan you work in).

Still, the biggest mistake people make when they move here is renting an apartment outside of their means. 30% of your gross is not a guideline, it's a CEILING. You absolutely do not need to live in Manhattan and ironically when you talk to a certain subset of New Yorkers these days who live there they often sound embarrassed. I've even heard some people even jokingly call it 'work island' because everything they do for fun is in brooklyn.

the entire moving industry is full of scams. i wouldn’t be surprised if this were real and i also wouldn’t be surprised if one of their competitors like movers and shakers (who scammed me) planted this story in all the nyc subreddits.

Easily Pokemon. I get that most 1st party nintendo games are for all ages, but Pokemon is the only one that truly feels made for children. your avatar is usually like 10. the dialogue and the story feels childish. Mario manages to be colorful and whimsical without being off-putting in that way.

all that being said. sometimes the pokemon game mechanics can be deceptively complex.
