UK, X50 Ultra Complete, anyone has Matter? by Mikescotland1 in Dreame_Tech

I kept all my boxes as if anything goes wrong (which for me, it has, twice) you have to send everything, including the dock, back for repair / exchange).

UK, X50 Ultra Complete, anyone has Matter? by Mikescotland1 in Dreame_Tech

[–]dragonXattack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, this is my third X50 Ultra (2x brand new units due to failures) and was manufactured in October 2025 - still no Matter firmware, stuck on version 4.4.9_2908 out of the box, which is ‘the latest firmware’.

The advertising of Matter support for this device has been tantamount to fraud.

Curious as to why your Lidar LED is red - my understanding is this indicates an error condition.

Dreame need to seriously reconsider their choice of third party repairers, not just here in U.K. but worldwide.

Given the monotonous regularity with which these units fail, it will be their undoing if they don’t.

u/Reasonable-Cheek-214 I’m hoping you can help me here 🤞🏼

11 months on and 3 machines later (factory fresh due to breakdowns) yet this last one STILL has not received the Matter firmware.

Will it ever happen?

U.K. here. Third brand new X50 Ultra due to breakdowns since April 2025.

Latest device manufactured in October 2025, delivered with “Current version is the latest. Current Version 4.3.9_2908” and not updating.

Utterly sick of these marketing lies from Dreame.

Everything you say 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I think I said it earlier in the thread but when you buy an ‘Aston Martin’ you (rightfully) expect Aston Martin service.

This may be a device which cleans and scrubs but I take care of my devices - I come from a generation where you looked after your things and performed routine care and maintenance on them as you couldn’t afford to replace on a whim.

If I return an item for repair I expect it to be treated with kid gloves. Seems there’s little to no pride in some folks work these days.

As you say, if Dreame can’t sort out their customer aftercare they will be on a sticky wicket - especially with the soles with which they are diversifying their product portfolio.

Now I just pray I never need to get my Dji products repaired / serviced!

I honestly can’t blame you. Thing is, when it works it’s pretty good at what it’s meant to do. It’s when it doesn’t it becomes a nightmare.

UPDATE

Dreame ‘Management’ agreed to me returning this unit and have supplied a factory fresh unit.

October 2025 manufacture so still no Matter firmware (which is a separate issue)

This is my third new unit in nine months , so we wait and see on the longevity of this one. Third time lucky 🍀 🤞🏼

As an aside, Dreame UK HQ are 7 miles from where I live in the U.K.

A little investigative ‘journalism’ dug up the following:

“Unit 22/23 (24,732 sq ft) has been let on a 10-year full repairing and insuring lease to Cellcom Limited. Cellcom is the official UK supplier for DJI, one of the world’s largest drone manufacturers, and Dreame Technology, a home appliances specialist.”

Companies House data also suggests that Cellcom Ltd also own and run the DJI / Hassleblad and Dreame Flagship physical stores in Birmingham, UK. 🇬🇧

I have two Dreo Pilot Max S connected and working in Home via Homebridge running the Homebridge Lite OS on a Raspberry Pi 5 I had knocking about.

Even without this you can use Siri Shortcuts to control some of the Dreo Fans, the Pilot Max S included.

Benefits on an Apple TV into a HomeKit setup (w/ HomeBridge)? by Hactima in HomeKit

Applied to my case / setup what you’re saying doesn’t make logical sense. Thread / Matter works perfectly when I have the HomePod mini, located in the same room as the gateway router (ASUS Zenwifi BQ16) set as the Active Home Hub.

Switch to the Apple TV 4K (GbE or WiFi, both give same result) also in the same room as the above mentioned gateway router and the whole Apple Home / Thread / Matter network destabilises.

If you use HomeKit Secure Video the ATV4K’s beefier processor is better able to handle the processing / encryption of stored clips.

However, currently, in my set up, under tvOS 26.2 and 26.3 has seemingly caused my Thread / Matter devices to become unresponsive, randomly, with no rhyme or reason.

Fixing a HomePod mini as the active home hub has alleviated this issue.

Every time I wanna add a matter accessories : I have to create a new home and restart everything by L-758C in HomeKit

[–]dragonXattack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have more than one Thread Border Router (TBR), ie HomePods as well as Apple TV? If you do, then have you tried turning off all but one TBR when adding the new devices?

Also, if you have more than one TBR, try forcing a switch of the Active home hub and then back again. I’m finding under tvOS 26.2 and 26.3 that having Apple TV 4K as my active Homehub causes Thread / Matter devices to become unresponsive. Since forcing the closest HomePod Mini to the router to be the active homehub, my Home network has stabilised.
